Cornell Days

anybody got any info on Cornell Days comin up in April?

all i know is it's coming up in april, and we'll get info mailed to us later

Cornell Days: April 6-17, 2006
"Cornell Days is a special University hosting activity where faculty and students will be available to answer questions and help you prepare for Fall 2006. Further information will be sent to you in late March or early April." Seems like that's pretty much everything. (Quoted from the acceptance letter.)

So is it okay to bring parents along; is that encouraged or will you be the laughing stock? And are dorms available of should i book a room in a hotel?

Is it still worth it to go to Cornell Days if I got in ED?

Hey guys, I know I'm not Class of 2010, but I can help you a bit with the Cornell Days info... it's April 6-17, as quoted above, and it's basically a way to get introduced to Cornell. There are campus tours, information sessions (both by Cornell and by individual schools), classes that you can attend, lots of social activities so you can meet other prospective students and the ability to stay with a current student overnight. I definitely think you should go, even if you got in early, because it really opens you up to Cornell and what it's like to be a student here. I'm also holding an event on Cornell Days- an ice cream social! (I know you all want to come to that). Bringing your parents is a great idea- you won't be laughed at because there will be many, many parents and other students there as well. They will need to book a hotel room if you stay overnight, but you can stay in a dorm w/a prospective students.
Congrats to you all for getting in, and I hope you see you at Cornell Days! :)

if i was coming for cornell days like friday and saturday, would i miss out on "events". is more of the stuff during the week? ...and when is this ice cream social haha? thanks!

There will obviously be more events on the weekends than during the week (sorry, guys, it will be prelim time and academics are at least somewhat important to everyone.. ;) ), but regardless of when you come, I'm sure there will be something interesting going on every day, as different organizations host different events. My ice cream social is 4/7 Fri at the Tatkon Center 3-4:30, for those interested, and I'm also helping a bowling event Thurs 4/13 7:30-9:30.

hey, i'm just bcurius when you guys found out your admissions decisions from cornell? let me know please.

I got an early write around Mar. 16, hopingforthebest

just wondering.. do I have to let them know now that I'll be there for those days, request a dorm to stay in, etc...?

astrosfan44, thanks for letting me know. I'm still waiting, but hopefully I'll be hearing good news soon.

you will receive more information on it as the days approach, but yes, you will eventually need to contact Red Carpet Society (our hosting organization) to get a host matched with you. And I also believe that you will register as well, though I don't remember the process exactly.

thanks for the info.. it's been a while since all the craziness. Sometimes I wonder if it was all real. lol.
