cornell decision email: wrong submitted date?

theprez, are you for another school/program than cas or engineering? maybe there was a batch of acceptances for something in the 2:00s that was just smaller..?

Well 48 hours from now we'll know, and I'm going to laugh so hard if it was completely random. It'll be really interesting to see.

erm... I'm not sure if jl08 was talking about me or not, as I did get a 35 ACT, and 12:26 submission. So far, been accepted to MIT, NYU, Boston U, Stanford, and UWyo, with no rejections as of yet, if you want to factor that in.

Hehe... I just had this thought. This fall, those who get accepted should have a reunion on campus to laugh at the silliness of it all.

almost exactly 48 hours lol

i still think it's interesting even if it will turn out completely random. it's not like i am desperate to know, because i got into northwestern and would be fine going there, but it's like a little puzzle... and puzzles are fun.

yes, i was talking about you Jen98 :]

omg I just got scared...I went to the webpage where we check decisions and the moment I logged in it says "check your decision" in bold red...but dont worry its just a message saying where to look for decisions when they are up lmao

Imagine a Cornell adcom reading this, and try to guess his/her first reaction :p

i think they should just accept us all since we like to solve impossible puzzles...we would be good students lol

They'd probably reject the lot of us for being too neurotic for their liking. ;)

@jl08: nope, just CAS.

okay, so the current train of thought is waitlist-accept-reject. but Jen98 has a "waitlist" time and got accepted to MIT, Stanford, and some other good schools (congrats!) and it seems odd that she would be waitlisted at Cornell. Not impossible (obviously), but less likely in the general scheme of things.

haha true...this is a little extreme

they should consider us being neurotic as dedicated

Maybe... they had two computers going? The first computer did all waitlists, hence they would be before 1:00, while the other did admits first, then rejects, hence the overlap of likeliness?

By the way, upon logging in to the decision page and clicking on the "profile" link, it gave my zipcode erroneously as 00000. Does anyone else have that issue?

you know I bet they do check these boards though....

jen thats what happened to me too, but i just put in my zipcode and changed it...i doubt it means anything

So we've only gotten 3-4 likely letters recipients to tell us their times, so we need more, and I know there are more because of all the stupid likely letters threads. But so far, I still back up my original view that regardless of what 1 and 12 are, 2 is definitely rejected.

dedicated... clever... up for seemingly-impossible tasks.

what if it actually does turn out somewhat how people are guessing? that'd be kinda funny (although this time i'm just going to be completely irked at ANOTHER waitlist). honestly, would/could they get angry at us?

well i guess it wouldn't matter.. because i'd be waitlisted and old news.

wait, jen98 - that makes sense. it's still odd there are SO many 12:26s.

I hope cornell doesn't waitlist people like washu does...

if this was the washu thread 12:26 would definitely be the waitlist, lol.

they're kind of too good at this whole admissions-yield thing... if you know what i mean.

i don't mean to rain on your parade guys.. but my grandfather works with the admissions committee and i received a likely to the engineering school (although i don't plan on enrolling) for civil engineering.. my time was 2:44.. I believe there is no correlation between the times and decisions.. i'll call him tomorrow.
