cornell decision email: wrong submitted date?

Yes it certainly does look random, so I'll take others' advice and forget about this altogether. No point in predicting since it's coming out in just 5 days.

jackwang:
"So, in addition of posting the submitted time, please also give your first letter of your last name, and your location, and which section of Cornell you are applying."

Is that serious? You observe a pattern there and want to decode it? :D You better go to Yale and join the CIA afterwards!

Okay, seriously, this thread is making me paranoid, and I think everyone's waaaay overanalyzing this, but I'll contribute anyway.

Overanalyzing or not, there is a coincidence. Nuitsansetoiles has the same time as me, and is the same state (and applied to the same college, for that matter).

^ I'm from FL, applied to CAS, and had 1:05 PM

Well there goes that! =/

lol
It's random again! I thought it was by geographical location at first, but I guess not.

Well, more information is needed since we only have three people with likely letters, and all are applying for engineering.

In fact, I am actually interested in only the engineering applicants pool, since it's more focussed this way.

From what I observe, the time range for the engineering applicants is relatively more condensed, all within the 1 PM range.

Hope more engineering applicants can help out though.

Again, any possible theory can only be proved when the decisions come out.

dude, by the time we figure this out it'll be summer orientation for the lucky ones. Let's just hang on a few days since I don't see a pattern emerging :)

hmm.. just a lot of times between 12-2 ish. maybe they post it by department or whatnot. oh well.. 4 more days till it's posted >.< best of luck to you all :)

I have doubt as the verity of these theories. My decision was submitted at the same time as a likely letter candidate with an entirely different last name, state of residence, and college.

I stand by the following opinion proposed regarding the equally obsessive Princeton email thread:

why not pass time in a fun, nutty way...

My first thought was abc order, then school order, and now i wonder if the order is based on the order of the files, meaning earlier times might be accepted, middle rejected and last waitlisted. I read another thread one school that had posted updated times seemed to waitlist the ones with the latest times. it makes sense since some deferred are looked at last and some of those end up on the waitlist?

Jack, i posted the info a few down. terrible at this stuff.

Engineering

cals- aem
2:44

looks bad

I did notice that dtop and I were both deferred to CALS and our times are both 1:05.

deferred cals aem
12:33....

this seems completely random now:(

My prediction is...later is worse.

2:36, deferred AAP architecture

yeah I don't think I got in.
