...SO.

any patterns??

well.. there is definitely a 12:30(ish) area group. There is also a 2 o clock group. And a one group.....

The problem is....we don't know how likely each group is to get in. So even if we can split it into a 12:30, 1, and 2 group we don't know which one if accepted, denied, or waitlisted.

I can't see any, but it's hard to tell because so many people posted their time without saying if they were likely to get in or not. Thanks for posting all that, though.

My guess is 12:30/Waitlisted, 1/accepted, 2/rejected

Idk lol

well we do know that the likelys were all in the 1 period, so that leads me to believe Gmen4Life

"Edit: wait, how do you know the "truth" is that you got rejected?"

I didn't say the truth was I got rejected, I said that the truth was I was very very unlikely to get accepted. I don't know my decision any sooner than anyone else...I wish haha.
I think that the submitted time might have more to do with when we submitted our apps, more than anything else. Ugh it's so frustrating...I've heard from every other college besides this and one other I'm sooo nervous.
I

Did anyone from CAS get a likely?

Last Name: N
Time: 3/24/2008 12:26:00 PM E.S.T.
College: CAS
Location: Arizona
Predicted Chance: Likely but not completely confident.

It is by the letters of your last name. I have the same time to the person that also had an 'N' last name:

Last Name: N
Time: 3/24/2008 12:26:00 PM E.S.T.

College: CAS
Location: California
Predicted Chances: Not too likely...

Also incase anyone have not noticed the message:
Please Note: The Application Submitted Date listed is a system generated date and does not reflect the actual date your application was submitted.

I think they'd just create the accounts based on last name. Though I do not understand how some people with a last name starting before 'N' got created much later and vice versa.

JohnN my last name starts with S and I had the same time, so it cant be by last name.

Isingh my last name starts with S and I had that time to

i got mine at 1:15. following your guys' theory, does that mean that I am prob admitted??

Johns Hopkins released decisions by email yesterday. Generally, those that got it last were rejected. I would be led to think that Cornell released acceptances first, then waitlist, then reject.

If I'm right, congrats 1230-ers!

i got waitlisted at JHU yesterday and i got my email before anybody else, their emails went waitlist->accept->deny, which although it means nothing to Cornell, i just thought i would correct you :)

Applied to CAS & CALS. White male, PA, no likely. Surname "D".
Submitted Date: 3/24/2008 1:28:00 PM E.S.T.

It seems to me that there are ALOT of people in the 12:00 time frame. So going by the waitlisted-accepted-deny theory, would they waitlist that many people?
so... perhaps are the 1200ers ... rejected?? (hope not)

I'm ashamed to be contributing to all this neuroticism:

orbitzz- that would be true if CC was a representative sample of the average cornell applicant...but it isnt. so idk... if you go through the other threads for other schools there usually are more people waitlisted than rejected on CC...from my experience. then again everything ive said is merely guesses based on very little data

cross posted with samuel... same thing really. our sample isnt representative of the average applicant so we cant use the statistics to help very much

It is considerably less likely for people to post their stats and announce their rejection if they're rejected, though.

add in that all the likelys we have seen here on cc are in the 1 oclock range...
