Cornell decisions

I really didn't think I my stats were up to it, definitely not anywhere near as good as pepsicoke or yours military
Engineering School - Mechanical
Stats:
HS:
SAT: V630 M700
GPA: 3.5/4.0 unweighted/weighted
SAT2: Writing:690 Math2:650 Chem: 600
AP's: Only took 3 AP classes (senior year)
CalcAB:1
Microecon:4
Macroecon:5 (quite a spread on AP scored)
tons of EC's, doesn't matter though b/c they didn't ask for them

College:
U of Michigan (Last year)
GPA: 3.5 in the core engineering classes, but about 3.4 when my others are factored in
EC's: Not much, cut from lax team after 2 months or so

Then I decide to go abroad my second year, so I'm now in London
Classes all have exams at the end of the year (aka NOW (f-ck!!!!!!)), so I have 8 exams now, and don't have any GPA yet. I have a few EC's, not many though. I do a bunch of stuff not related/not with other people from my school, so that's most of it.

A bit untraditional, but whatever works.

soccer is the decision is also appearing in you app status page?

no it's not

hmmm... that's a first (or is it?): getting an email before the status-page update. Have others (whom were accepted) received a "Congratulations" email?

Darleen the adcom called my cell phone, but now I'm extremely worried because my application status page has not changed. i want official notification!!!

congratulations to everyone who got accepted!

cornell's mechanical engineering is one of the highly ranked programs in the engineering field. I hope you will have a worthy experience.

anyone get a decision

my stats aren't too far off from yours, soccer.. hope mine turns out ok :/

edit: just wondering, soccer.. what classes have you taken so far that pertain to the engineering curriculm?? do you know what credits they're accepting??

minthips... What major did you apply to? The adcom called you to tell you of your acceptance?

Can you post your stats?

Congratulations, soccer...U deserve it.....Good luck!! and hope you have a great time at Cornell!!!!!!

Haha...I got rejected from all the colleges(Dartmouth, Cornell, Berkeley) with these stats..It would be great if anyone could comment what went wrong with my application or what I can improve?? Any input will be greatly appreciated... and congratulations to everyone who got in!!! U guys deserve it!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah, I'm white, come from a middle class background, don't work during the school year, no hooks except my general good looks.

irish: Last year I did fizix, chem, comp sci, engin communications, calc I and II. This year it's Thermo, Fluids, Statics/mechanics, Electricity, and Calc III/diffEQ.

Pepsi: Your stats kick my arse any day. You definitly should have gotten in all three of the places you applied, and you are coming from a very good school as well, with tons of EC's. I heard Dartmouth only had something like 30 open spots, and you're not the only one with amazing stats to be rejected from CALS or CAS or whatever that school is.

congrats to soccer0407 and all other acceptees. Great work.

pepsi - I wonder if it might be the reason you gave for wanting to transfer? It certainly can't be your stats. It could be the same old thing that occurs in Freshman admissions - nothing to do with you, but rather how they were trying to round out the class, so maybe they were just looking for a different background? You go to a great school already, of course. I haven't fully followed your story - is there any possibility you would be happy staying where you are.

johnM. i was actually accepted in high school and deposited but had to withdraw last summer due to unexpected family circumstances. i applied to human ecology, human development.

high school stats: 1470, 690/730/760, GPA 4.187 W, cross country team, dance, piano.
post high school: ran a restaurant (my family's) for a while because parents got seriously ill, published some collections of poetry, and took bout 30 credits, current GPA ought to around 3.4~5?

accepted into human ecology!

now to worrying about how many credits are they gonna accept from me..
i hope they will accept enough so that i can graduate on time :[

i don't know why colleges are being so ridiculous these days, there is so much deserving people out there who should have been accepted. G'luck to you all, hang in there!

I still haven't hearddddddddddd

Bump
Anyone heard from Cornell engineering yet?

pepsicokevodka, I am totally stunned. I don't understand why you'd get rejected from all those.

EEguy,

A few people heard last Friday. Someone with screen name soccer was accepted into mechanical engineering.

yes. I was accepted to mechanical
