Cornell Diversity Hosting 2013

@MerryCat
I’m a female engineer who got a likely today. I think what made me stand out was my research experience the summer after my sophomore year and my research internship last year (both for Bioengineering which is my major). That and my odd extracurriculars, maybe.

I’ll post my bare bones stats for you to compare.
Asian, ACT 35, 4.0 GPA, 2 internships (one volunteer, one paid)
EC: Captain/President of MUN and Varsity Rifle Team Member

Best of luck to all those still waiting and Congrats to everyone who got in!

Can someone answer my question? Is today the only day they’re sent out?

Yes the 15th is the last day for ivy likelies to be sent out.

Hey guys. Mine is definitely a likely but it says nothing about a diversity event.
“Your application to Cornell University has been reviewed by the admissions selection committee, and I am writing to let you know that you will be offered admission to Cornell. Although Ivy League institutions won’t officially notify students of their admission decisions until later this month, we wanted to share this good news with you now.”

I’m an international student. Um, does everyone’s email say this or is mine a different email?

I got an e-mail from the director of undergraduate admissions of the art architecture and planning college that was essentially a postcard, it said “Having a wonderful time, wish you were here!” and then twenty minutes later I got invited to the Diversity Hosting, informing me I’ll be admitted!!! I am so happy!

I am URM for urban and regional studies in AAP.

Congratulations to everyone!!!

I got the likely too…but there’s no way they sent it to every urm and female engineer, correct? This is just the most qualified group?

Did any of you apply EOP/HEOP?

Does anyone know if they send out letters as well?
I got my email, but a letter would be nice too.

Yes they do! The letter came today! It’s really nice :)

Congratulations to everyone as well, I can’t wait to meet you all :)

My S recieved invitation to diversity day yesterday by email. I guess letter will follow. He is a URM and was sent an acceptance to the ILR school about a week ago. They said formal acceptance package will follow. Poli Sci/ Gov major.

Hey guys! I got my acceptance for the Diversity Hosting around 3 o’clock a couple of days ago. I am not sure if I can actually attend unfortunately, but this is definitely extremely exciting. I am mostly white, and I am a guy… So I am guessing I probably got it for being partly Oklahoma Native American xD going into Physics. Anyone else planning on Physics?

D got email: “I am writing to let you know how much the Cornell Engineering Admissions Committee enjoyed reading your application. Your academic and personal achievements are outstanding and, although the Ivy League schools won’t notify students of their admission decisions until the end of the month, it may help with your planning to know that you are very likely to be admitted to Cornell.”

Not an invite to the “Diversity” weekend, but is to the Women in Engineering on Apr 12/13. It’s a $400-$600 plane ticket; I’d like to know its a sure thing before I book a flight, but if I wait the cost will elevate. Any chance she’d get a reject after receiving this?

Wow I certainly didn’t see this coming…but I’m in!!! CAS music major here

@comom it’s an acceptance so you can celebrate now! And purchase that plane ticket!

@comom you should read about the engineering day. I know for diversity day of you live more than 300 miles away they will cover the students air fare if you book it through them (just something worth checking)!

It is, indeed, all expense paid! So don’t worry about plane tickets

How many of you all are attending?

Im pretty sure I’m going.
I signed up for the 14th. Flying up from Orlando.

Did anyone receive the letter today. As much as people keep saying that this means that I’m in cause I got the Diversity hosting likely, Im still skeptical and would love to have the letter to reassure me haha. I may not have gotten it yet since I’m so far down the east coast.

I got the letter today!!! Don’t worry, the letter explicitly states “you will be offered admission to Cornell”
