@Illuminate27 pressure off and just a little delayed by 2.5 hours! Congratulations, and Have Fun!!!?
@BigApple2018, pressure off big time, thank you for being on this post with us and helping us through this, you’re awesome!
Son reports that he didn’t receive a diversity hosting email. Oh well. Congrats to the applicants that received the email. It’s cool that Cornell offers such a visit for admitted students.
@NMParent000079 don’t be disheartened, they can only accommodate a select few. Best of Luck on Ivy Day?
does Cornell cover all of transportation and expenses for diversity hosting or only some?
@BigApple2018 Not disheartened at all. A quick look at the Cornell class of 2022 profile reveals that about 800 URM students enrolled (not sure on admitted), and I’m confident not all of them received the diversity hosting email last year. So who knows what can happen on March 28.
Does this email mean that I definitely got admitted to Cornell? The language of the email says “This special invitation is extended to you because of your strong academic and personal record and because you will be admitted to Cornell University’s Class of 2023”.
@esperantisto256 Yes ?%, they are definitely admitted applicants!
@katedagreat check for the exact details on the website when you register
Omg I’m actually freaking out rn!!! Do they typically mail stuff too at this date or around Ivy day? I didn’t get anything today and I’m away for a few days now so I’m just wondering what to expect.
@esperantisto256 the actual acceptance letter will be in the portal on Ivy Day, then you’ll receive your Welcome package in a few days later via mail. Postmarked Ivy Day
Congrats everyone!! I’m so happy for you!! Did anyone from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences get one?
I got one for engineering!!! Completely caught me by surprise and I couldn’t be happier!!! I kind of regretted not applying ED for awhile, but this definitely made it all worth it.
Has anyone who applied to AAP specifically architecture receive a diversity letter?
Also, I called Cornell’s diversity outreach and apparently they are still going to be sending out more diversity hosting in the near future
I would like to start by congratulating everyone who got an invitation for Cornell’s diversity hosting, HARD WORK FINALLY PAID OFF!
Unfortunately, I have not received an invitation from Cornell university. I have read a few comments that stated that only underrepresented minorities are invited, does this mean that an international student (like me) is not eligible for such an invitation?
Thank you guys in advance!
@Rickychen112 Did diversity outreach give a specific date when they’d send out more diversity hosting emails?
Isn’t there an Ivy Blackout, no contact with applicant time period?
I don’t think so and if there is then probably not now. I sent emailed something to admissions two days ago and they responded
DD received Diversity Hosting email today. So excited for her!
@1000, the Diversity hosting weekend is for URM, underrepresented minorities: Black, Latinx, multiracial, Native American, Native Hawaiian, Native Alaskan (last three are indigenous Americans). These students generally make up less than 20% of the class. For Native Hawaiians, it’s less than than your fingers. For Native Americans, probably less than your fingers and toes.
You can be international and URM, but most times it’s US residents that are considered. You don’t have to be a US citizen or a US permanent resident to fall into this category.
