also, if not ivy league will top schools like carnegie mellon accept me?

Youre not getting in with a 1980. Carnegie mellon is a reach to.

I mean I only took it once… Aiming for a 2100 this time will my chances be better then?

I have seen 2100s accepted, but they got a hook and a real story to be told…

2100 is obviously better than a 1980 but you would still not get in.

Oh well, I’ll try anyways and see what happens. Thanks :)

You need to raise your SATs. This can be done with an SAT prep book IF you are prepared to go through it in depth. Good luck.

And ‘wizard’ who lacks a command of basic English grammar, lives under a bridge. His comments are consistent put downs. Ignore him.

Hahaha. I speak the truth widow.

My S got accept with 1860 and scholarship.

I have a D who is in 10th grade and wants to go to cornell too. I made her take the SAT and she got a 1630. Things are looking good

Did accept letters get send already? My S is at cornell now. If D does not get accepted, I will be very much disappoint

@ready4college247‌ that is mean to say. My S had a lot of good plenty ECs. He was in 3 clubs and 1 sport which is good at. Your S probably does not have good ECs. What did he make on SAT?

Don’t lose any hope man! I know a guy at my school several years ago who made it into MIT with a 2050 SAT score!! Scores aren’t everything. Make sure your essays are top notch though.

My S made better SAT score than yours? My S also took AP tests. He got 3, 3, 4 on Stats AP, Human Geography AP, and Psicology AP. He did not take other AP tests because he told me they were too hard. S never took ACT but got 620 and 580 on math I and spanish SAT subject test

Thank you to everyone who commented  I’m definitely not losing hope sats is probably the only thing I need to raise and if not ivy leagues aren’t everything

I’m not sure if some of these comments are jokes though…

Yeah don’t listen to Wizard09. Many people have gotten into top schools with sub-2000 SATs. Obviously its beneficial to have >2100 (if not 2200) when applying to ivies, and certainly that will significantly boost your chances, but given the rest of your application you definitly have a shot at Cornell. Also some advice: STUDY FOR THE SATs. So many people take them again with minimal studying and just pray that they will do better, which almost never happens. Buy the book, do as many practice test as you can until you are consistently getting you scores you are aiming for. Don’t just hope for a good score.

Yeah I’m using the Kaplan Critical Reading, studying roots, doing the practice tests in the Collegeboard book, and practicing the hardest math problems there are, thank you!

ok well update i got a 2060 and 2090 superstore, cornell is a reach but do you think I can get into barnard or nyu
