What are my chances for my top 7 or so?

STATS

-GPA: 3.60/4.00 unweighted, weighted is much higher due to the quality of classes I took.

Common App Essay: I'm still deciding between a couple of choices, but my strongest so far is about my favorite album of all time, how I grew up with it and how it shows my transformation from awkward bookworm to a more social, yet just as intellectual senior.[Kinda hard to explain without giving too much away, it will be very polished and my English teacher loved the idea, she's been helping kids with essays for years].

Short Essay for Common App - Relate Running and thinking, as most of my deepest thoughts occur on a run in the woods near my hometown

Suppliments - I will work on the supplements starting the day they come out, Cornell UVa and UChicago will be extra strong

Letters of Rec - I am getting one from my Calc teacher as well as my APUSH teacher, they both like me a huge amount and have said they have nothing but positive things to say about me

-My guidance counselor letter will be strong as well, we have met several times to talk college, and have "bonded" over discussions over Boy Scouts, the college admittance process and To Kill a Mockingbird. (We are both Boyscouts/Eagles, and love TKM).

Miscellaneous

I have an (incredibly) small chance of being recruited for XC/T&F

Finally, with interviews, I have been known to be very polite and good with impressing adults, so I should do very very well in them.

Please be honest, do I have a chance at any of my top schools?

GPA and rank hurt your chances for the top schools.

I know that, but does my upward trend, ACT’s and EC’s ( Essays and recs also) balance it out enough that I’m still in the running?

You have a chance, that ACT score is good, your essays will be very important (let your personality shine through). Even though you are an Eagle Scout, I’m not seeing any major competitive awards, which sometimes is important. You have to think like the college does, what slot do you fill for them? Athlete? Musician? My guess is you get into one of your top seven.

For an OOS applicant your GPA for UVa is low. It’s just the reality. They waitlisted kids with near perfect test score just for that reason. You have good ECs and test scores but your GPA will certainly hurt at all those top schools.

I know I have weaknesses, that much is obvious. Do I have a chance at Cornell though? If I get in just there I will be ecstatic

Decent chance at cornell ED if you have awesome essays.
