Cornell Dyson vs. NYU Stern

How do these two schools compare.. im curious.... from my research stern is the better business school especially in finance... but cornell has the stamp of being an ivy league university... in the job world, and repuation/prestige, how do they compare... im debating on where to apply.. and how (ed1 vs ed2)...

Recruitment wise I’d imagine they are pretty even. Prestige wise Cornell is more prestigious than NYU.

but people say stern is a lot better than dyson… in the finance sector especially… so its kind of interesting to see the difference.

Both are fine schools and if you do well at Stern or Dyson you should be in good shape. Instead of worrying about which of these two excellent schools is more prestigious, I suggest you think about where you want to live and what type of college environment you want over the next 4 years (there is a big difference between the schools in that regard) and use that to determine where you want to apply early.

Stern is excellent at Wall Street placement, but it is not better than a handful of other top ranked undergraduate business programs, and Dyson is one of those.

Personally, I prefer Cornell because it has a nice camps culture. In terms of professional placement, both are good, but in terms of undergraduate experience, I give the edge to Cornell.

^ He attended Cornell :p

Why are you debating where to apply…? You should apply to both. You should only apply ED to a school if you are positive it is the right fit for you. Fit includes academics, majors, recruitment, campus, student body, and more. Cornell and NYU will both provide you with sufficient opportunities to break into high finance.

I did attend Cornell, but as a graduate student. I have no real attachment to the school. I am only irrational when it comes to Michigan! ;)
