Hi, I am a current high school senior deciding between Cornell Dyson and Umich Ross (I am a pre-admit) for Fall 2018. I want to study business, and I’m specifically interested in Business Administration, Management, and International Business. I also plan on working in Shanghai in the future. I am having trouble deciding between these two business schools, so any input/advice is welcome! I’ve taken factors like social life, location, and cost of attendance into account and the schools seem to be pretty evenly matched. Thanks!
With respect to business majors, direct admit is the key.
Do you have any direct admit options ?
Direct admit? Not sure if this is what you mean but I have been accepted into Dyson and Ross (it’s a 3-year program but high school seniors can apply for guaranteed admission)
I am confused by your response. But if you are in fact a direct admit to Ross then that is the clear choice at equal cost based on your interests.
Why?
I think both are terrific. Cornell may be better if your interests change.
Costs are about the same?
Yes costs are about the same.
Cornell and Michigan are very similar. Michigan is basically twice Cornell. It has twice the undergraduate student population, twice the graduate student population, twice the faculty, twice the endowment/resources etc…
Since cost of attendance is roughly the same, go with your gut. Ann Arbor is a larger town than Ithaca, and is more conveniently located, but if you like the outdoor and nature, you cannot beat Cornell/Ithaca.
