Cornell Early Decision chance me...

Ok, so I usually don’t like the chance me threads, but I have to admit, I’m sort of caught up in it now that I have submitted my early decision application to Cornell. Everything I have read says 40/60 but I’m hoping it’s better than that. The wait is killing me so I would appreciate some opinions - because I need more stress in my life (LOL). Thanks!

Here are some details:

Academics:
-Female interested in Biomedical Engineering
-Weighted GPA 4.5/5.0
-Unweighted 3.94/4.0
-ACT 34 Composite
-SAT II Physics 750
-SAT II Math II 780
-Seven AP classes last year and this year, the rest honors

ECs:
-10 years as competitive dancer (solo); qualified for and competed in 8 regional championships and 5 national championships
-Varsity women’s golf team 3 years
-President of German Club
-German Honors Society
-National Honors Society
-A number of state and regional awards for German (for some reason I’m strong in this language even though I’m not native)

Volunteering:
-Founder of unique campaign (leadership) - major fundraiser in support of Meals on Wheels
-Volunteer for Meals on Wheels for 4 years - delivering meals to homebound

Work:
-Dance instructor 4 hours per week for ages 4 - 11 (leadership)
-Dance camp counselor for last 4 years (leadership)
-Paid Intern in Information Technology at large famous non-profit organization in New York City last summer

Other:
-Essays were good IMO. I tied some real life health issues with my desire to help other through biomed. I also visited Cornell twice and even spent time touring the facilities with the Assoc Dean of Biomed.
-Cost is not an issue.

There are a handful of other things but I think that’s probably enough.

Thanks again!

Good chances especially as a female in biomedical engineering! Good luck!

Pretty good chance definitely at least 50% or 40/60. It might be better than 40/60 but I think 40/60 is about as good as it gets for anyone as Ivies are a crap shot. Still, you got an intern related to your college and have strong SAT II scores. GPA and ACT are also slightly above average!

I’m trying to bump this back up. Lot’s of views on this thread but only a couple replies. Sooooo, while I painfully wait a few more weeks for the decision, anyone want to help me pass the time and chance me? I’ll chance you back.

I’d say you have about 50-70% chance, maybe even higher because you’re a female pursuing biomed engineering. Your scores are all strong and great GPA. Good extracurriculars too. Best of luck!!

Chance me back??

I would say you have a very good chance. I would be surprised if you get rejected.
