Im mainly doing ED to increase my chances and I want to do either Cornell AEM or Northwestern Economics. I saw that the AEM acceptance rate was only 11%!? should I really waste the ED on Cornell if it ruins the 37% regular rate and just apply to NU?

Thanks..

apply ed where you will be happiest, not where you think you can game the system

The acceptance rate doesn’t tell half the story. Just because you apply to Cornell AEM, it doesn’t mean you have an 11% chance of getting in. If your grades are good, like 94+ and your SATs are 2200+, along with good extracurriculars and recommendations, your chance of getting in could well be ~80%. Think about the competition. If your grades are mediocre (which could be why you’re worrying about ED and acceptance rates), then your chances aren’t good anywhere.

But yeah, like Tbooonepickens said, pick the one you like better, otherwise you could go on the rest of your life wondering what if…

ya you are right my gpa suffered during sophomore year… its around 3.9/4.0 but high class rank, so ya.
