Cornell ED Canadian international applicant - Chance me please!

I am a white female in public school from Vancouver, Canada.

GPA: 3.9 (UW) 4.4 (W)
Rank: school doesn’t rank
ACT: 29 - I didn’t have time to study much for the June administration. Will take again in September. I’m studying all summer and expecting score of 34-36
SAT II: 730 French Lang - will retake French and take Math ii in October (expecting 750+ on both)
APs: French (expecting a 5), AP Seminar (probably 3 but maybe 4)

Senior Year Course Load: will be taking AP Research (second course in AP Capstone Diploma), AP Calc BC, AP Bio, AP Chemistry, physics, english and continuing studies in French.

ECs, current:

  • President, founder of Medical Sciences Club
  • President, founder of French club
  • 2 years of being the Social Media Executive at a small non-profit that raises money to send women in Liberia to teaching school
  • 4 years of rowing, now I am a coach for the Learn-to-Rows and resident coxie
  • Junior Board Liaison on my rowing club’s board of directors 2016-2017

ECs, next school year:

  • will be observing surgery or emergency/trauma at a hospital starting in september
  • parliamentary simulation club executive starting in september

Awards:

  • Duke of Edinburgh award, Silver level
  • DELF French language certification level B1 (1 level below fluency), will take fluency-level test in fall
  • Science trailblazers student leader (my school got nobel prize winners like Andrew Fire and prominent scientists like Neil Turok to come speak to students and I read the introduction for each speaker)

Job/Work Experience:

  • I cox for a rowing club (for rowing: this means I steer)
  • worked at kumon in 2015
  • observed at an orthodontics office
  • have organized many events (non-profit gala with 100 people, speakers for my MedSci club)

Volunteer/Community service:

  • raising money for my nonprofit. I raised $1000 in 5 months in 9th grade, and that money funded the 1st year of teacher training for a woman in Liberia
  • raising money for my rowing club (this summer we hope to raise a few thousand $)

Summer Activities:
–> 2-week Neuroscience course at a top 3 canadian university (2015)
–> 1-week government/politics forum in ottawa (2015)
–> Mini med school at a private boarding school in my area
–> studying French at an international french school for a week in Quebec

I think my rec letters will be very good and I know ill have a strong essay (AP capstone will have taught me something haha). I have wanted to go to cornell for a really long time. What are my chances for ED?

It’s a reach, but raising the ACT will definitely help. Make sure you make your passion clear in your extracurriculars so that you show that you have a clear direction.
