Easy in

Obviously Cornell is a reach for everyone, but you are a very competitive applicant and I would be kind of surprised if you didn’t get in. Good luck!

Chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1678006-chances-at-cmu-scs-ill-chance-back.html#latest

Your stats are great! But that does not guarantee you admission into an ivy league. Try focusing on what makes you stand out.

With good essays that demonstrate fit and enthusiasm, looks like an excellent chance.

you should get in, highly doubt you will get fin aid

If I apply RD, does it decrease my chances of getting in significantly? There are a lot of strong applicants from my school who are also applying ED.

Probably, yes.

Are you applying to Engineering or A&S? Male admit rate to engineering was 9.2% this past year (2018). The Eng class of 2017 was 34% ED admits, but I do not know ED admit rate. The university’s ED 2018 admit rate was 28% vs RD admit rate of 12.5%. I can’t assume that the same ratio applies to Eng admit rate.

Mid-range SATs were 740-800 M & 680-760 CR for Engineering admits a year ago.

So, now you have a lot of data. No one can guess your chances, but your stats look fantastic. Time to convince the university why they should accept you.

As far as financial aid goes, you will either get very very little or none. If you do get aid, it will be loans rather than grants and/or work-study.
