Hi guys! I will be applying for Biological sciences. Just wanted to know if CAS or CALS is better for Pre-med? Or i’ve been hearing Human ecology?
So… Art History… yeah, I don’t see a 3 in my future.
@QueenOfBohemia LOL. Tried to sign up for AP Art History but even my teacher told me to only take it if I really really liked art…
@roboticsnerd33 I really really liked art… and then I looked at that exam and really really felt like screaming at the top my lungs. 1-2 confirmed.
@QueenOfBohemia I am not into art at all…that exam was horrible. and there were hardly any practice materials!
@hleeigh Well, the format was changed this school year, so egg on our faces for wanting to take it. :(( Funny you mentioned it. I had a dream last night that I got a 5 on it, but my inner-inner conscience told itself “It’s not even July yet!” and my brain said, “Oh, you’re right.” :))
@QueenOfBohemia im just hoping the curve will be nice since everyone in my class thought it was impossible X_X
@QueenOfBohemia (https://secure-media.collegeboard.org/digitalServices/pdf/research/2015/Student-Score-Distributions-2015.pdf) Apparently 27.2% of people who took the Art history exam last year got a 3, which is interesting because it’s comparable to Cornell’s ED admissions rate. Well don’t let your hopes down, you might be getting that 5! I thought I didn’t even pass my AP music exam last year but ended with something much higher.
Hey everyone, what are you guys doing this summer? Since APs are done I’m sort of transitioning into a relaxed phase of this year, which imo is well deserved…
Also, I’m thinking of EDing to the College of Engineering instead of CAS now. I hope my stats are enough for them to consider me and look at my EC’s.
@roboticsnerd33 I’m attending numerous leadership seminars and pre-college programs! I also volunteer a lot.
@roboticsnerd33 I have an internship with a nutritionist and a job that relates to my major…still my mom doesn’t think it’s academic enough :((
There is a good chance I’ll be EDing here too. I was wondering if I am at a huge disadvantage if most of my ECs are biology related (bio research, doctor internship, emt, hospital volunteer) even though I’m applyjn to CoE
Prepping for the SATs and summer internship! Would it be too late to take SATs in October for ED, since new scores now tend to come out not three weeks but a month after the test date, which would be well into November and past the ED deadline.
@pokemon1 Perhaps you can center your essay around Biological Engineering or Biomedical Engineering? That way the Biology EC’s may seem a little bit more applicable.
I’m currently going to have a corporate internship at a Financial Services company this summer, but I’m trying to get research with a professor… If that works out that’ll be great, but it’s awesome that I have a great “back-up” lolol.
@roboticsnerd33 yeah I see that Cornell doesn’t require one to indicate s major when applying to CoE so it will work in my favor
Oh boy, SAT Subject Tests are this Saturday. I’ve got Physics and Math 2 and I’m kind of cramming for the rest of the week. Any advice? Are any of you guys doing subject tests, or even the actual full SAT on Saturday?
@roboticsnerd33 Yes! Biology E/M, US History, and Literature
When would application process start for ED Fall 2017?
How hard is it to transfer from CAS (econ) to CALS (AEM)??
