Cornell ED Class of 2021 Discussion Thread

I applied ILR early! Super scared because my GPA isn’t too hot, but I think my essays/EC’s/ACT+SAT score were ok.I I also have a sibling legacy, but apparently that doesn’t count too much.
Hope everyone gets in!! Best of luck  this entire week is going by too slowly ugh

@silverphi Me too! My GPA’s just MEH but I have a 2300 SAT and some pretty unique EC’s I’m really passionate about.

@silverphi I’m kinda in the same boat with you. I have sibling legacy as well, and I’m not too excited about my grades, although I am in the top 5% at my school. Honestly I’m expecting a rejection, but if I do get accepted it’ll probably be because my EC’s were decent and my legacy pushed me over the edge.

@cotopaxi sounds like me tbh (i asked my mom what glue they used to stick trees to the ground when I was 6), BTW which state you applying from?

does anyone know anything about the global and public health major in Human Ecology? Is it relatively difficult to get accepted into?

btw whats more competitive to get into- hbhs, bio and society, or global n public health. thank u in advance

@shirazi1234 did you apply ED? I applied to the one in CALS!

Is anyone here recruited for Cornell sports? If so I was wondering when you guys find out if you got in.

anybody else receive mail from Cornell? I got a big packet from undergrad. admissions including info for ILR like a week ago despite the fact that I applied to CAS… is this a bad sign or just a fluke-- thoughts?

Do you think Animal Science is a competitive major?

@IBsleeping no! unfortunately not. applied to another ivy. however cornell is my next choice by far. what school r u applying to

@applicantXxX thats weird lol, but better than nothing?

@shirazi1234 I am pursuing a major in Global and Public Health Sciences at the College of Agr. and Life Science

@raven7363. Since you asked…My D is a recruited athlete. She did receive a LL back in October but we too are waiting for the official admission decision.

I applied global and public health in HumEc as well. My SAT score is in the 25% range and GPA is probably not relatively great either but hoping my ECs, legacy, and supplemental essays will push me over.

@applicantXxX I’d assume that it was just general mail that they send to prospective students, but I’m not sure- it could be bad or good- I haven’t heard of this happening.

@applicantXxX I think thats just a generic package. I wouldn’t be worried, I got ones from U chicago at least once a week.

Likely letters for recruited athletes are making me wish I could make past me actually run once in a while :))

So I just saw that I needed to upload my Aid Application Certification the past Sunday. I had everything else uploaded a month ago. Anyone know how lenient they are? I know the deadline is 11/22
so yeah I screwed up :’(

Lol I just ate twice as much for dinner than I usually do. Talk about stress…
