At the end of the day, all you can really hope for when dealing with a place like Cornell is to be in the conversation. Beyond that, there’s not a whole lot of measurable accounting that can help you figure out if they will take you or not. It’s just not very predictable. Regardless, I hope they take all of you! Best of luck!!
Does anyone know what time it will be live Thursday? Also, have any of you gotten an email?
@sidthekid1787 beginning 5pm EST
@ebiersack how low is “lesser stats”
@sidthekid1787 Their website says Dec 8th 5 PM EST
Dang, I’ll have just gotten out of school on the west coast. Did you find out on their website, or?..
Also, @sargamprakash I’m applying to Arch too!
@lourveamerican my dad went to cornell and we did the exact same thing haha thats so funny! the stacks are so cool but i got a little claustraphobic lol
how many people applied ED to Cornell this year??
@sidthekid1787 This has already been posted, but here’s the source https://admissions.cornell.edu/news/early-decision-applicants-2
Let’s hope we get in!! B-)
@sidthekid1787 @sargamprakash
Arch here too
@sidthekid1787 @RUHTRA999
We’re kind of a rare breed, aren’t we?
Sorry I’m so late!
I’m a CAS CS/English intended double major!! (haha a strange mix, but truly my two interests)
But, oh gosh, I just had a heart attack reading this thread. I thought results were going to come out on the 10th or 11th, so I was super emotionally prepared, but then I found out (because of this thread LOL) that it would be out on the 8th, right around my last class…
How am I supposed to focus now?? I’ll probably get zero sleep the day before; doesn’t help I have a test on Thursday too… oops. :-S
@drakonus I have a big calc test worth 40% of my grade thursday and a big test in bio on friday worth about 1/3 :’), I’m not sure how I’m gonna focus on either.
@Shrilkshire AHH good luck to us both!!
@drakonus Good luck to us, I’ll certainly need it…
I’m trying to tell myself that I 1000% won’t get in so I won’t feel so bad when I’m really rejected… but I’m still soooo nervous
I would suggest for all of you to find a private place to find out your result. My kid was on a school trip overseas. She asked her teacher if she could go up to her room to get her result. I (mom) cancelled all of my meetings at 5pm on the decision day so I could get the call from my kid in private. It was a very emotional moment.
Cornell has improved their portal infrastructure. Few years ago, on the decision day their servers would always crash due to the trafic.
@Haruko0806 Haha that’s exactly my strategy!!
I personally feel like I’ll get over it better in person, because if I’m alone I’ll get super depressed? I don’t know, maybe it’s just me, but I’ve always been sort of a people person… I’ll see when the day comes though; maybe I’ll chicken out oops.
Imagine if we had a College Confidential bonding at Cornell (if we get in! Trying to keep low expectations so I can study for my test)… that would be so funny finding out who everyone is!! HAHA
