@ivan77 the geographic location is ‘considered’ but it’s not a huge factor. You can see how much they care about that kind of thing here:

As we near the end of early decision application review for Cornell’s Class of 2021, we would like to share with you important information regarding admission decision notification.
You will be able to view your admission decision online on Thursday, December 8, beginning at 5 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time). You will receive an email on Thursday, with instructions on how to view your decision.
