Thank you. Was trying to sift through the posts, but there are a whole lot of them all of the sudden.
did cornell request all of ya’lls first quarter grades? does anyone know if that means anything?
No they didn’t. In fact, my counselor was asking me whether I got a mail from them asking to send the report in since it says midyear required on her commonapp counselor page thing
I sent mine in just because they ended up being very good and it couldn’t hurt…
i know some people who they requested it from and others who they didnt does it mean anything?
Wait … Cornell didn’t request my grades. Does it mean that I’m done for?
I’m an international, a junior , and a prospective Cornell ed applicant. Any tips for likes like me or anything you wish you’d done as a junior, please do tell. I’ll be grateful.
@Ktgisgreat Honestly, I’d say pick one or two activities that you enjoy and do them well. I know this suggestion is pretty cliche, but trust me, I think when you do things you are genuinely interested in it will show through in your application
I am an international applicant, so EST 5pm is Friday 7am for me. This means I will have the opportunity see my results before school, but I have an important test to take that day. Should I check my results before school or wait till the end? I don’t know if which is worse, failing the test due to anxiety or due to sadness after a rejection letter…
:((
@Ktgisgreat don’t screw up your grades. I got 3 B’s the first semester of my junior year because I didn’t pay attention, and those will probably be the deciding factor if I am rejected. I’ve talked to some former admissions officers and they have told me that your grades are the #1 most important factor. Having good ECs is important, but the first thing they look at is your grades. If you’re like me, college might seem far away and unimportant earlier in high school, but now I realize every test last year really counted.
I would recommend that you wait until after the test to look at your results, especially if your test is early in the day, since you can look immediately after it. For me, the sadness of rejection would be worse than the anxiety of waiting a few more hours.
Sorry but I think the above comment is dumb. Knowing that your decision is ready and you don’t know it could be far more devastating and could cause more anxiety than getting rejected. I personally would like to know, and whether or not I was rejected for a school would have no bearing on my school work. I don’t see how an in school test could be so big that checking your decision a few hours before would hurt it. But it’s up to YOU @lulu2070 , whatever works best for you personally and not some random person online.
@mc1217 @DryMango Thanks to both of you! I will make my decision depending on how I feel after I get access to the portal.
Does anyone have the link to that Cornell website pdf that had the 25th and 75th percentile scores for each college?
have you heard anything in particular about this major? i also read that the college of human ecology accepts you into the school NOT the major- anyone know if there is any truth to this claim
@Hotelie9871 check your direct message box! I sent a message regarding the Hotel school, I didn’t want to talk on here considering almost all of the other people on this thread did NOT apply to the SHA.
I’ve heard that too! What major did you pick ?
Anyone apply to CAS as a psych major?
One more sleep until results guys!! Holy crap :((
