November will be here before we even know it! When do you guys plan on submitting your applications?
@hleeigh Hopefully by mid-october… Probably going to be the day it’s due lol
I’m no longer sure if I’m applying ED, still considering it, though. Already filled in the whole CommonApp and almost done with the AAP supplement, only need to make up my mind and take the ACT again this Saturday.
School has started and college apps have become that much harder to work on… regretting not having done more in the summer
Hi everyone! I’m really glad that I found this thread and you people just sound so helpful! I am an International applicant from Bangladesh and hopefully will be applying ED to Cornell. My intended major is Environmental and Sustainability Sciences and also probably considering a minor in Environmental, Energy, and Resource Economics. I’ve read loads of positive feedback about the college and absolutely fell in love with this place. It’s exciting to find yourself among a pool of highly qualified and ambitious applicants and I hope we all get admitted! Cheers to a bump ride ahead!
Hello! Anyone here who knows any specific reviews about Environmental and Sustainability Sciences? I compared the courses and opportunities with Duke’s Nicholas School of Environment and it’s quite head to head. But Cornell just seems to be a better fit for me. And the study abroad and field programs seem to have certain edge here.
Does anyone know if Cornell usually releases all their ED decisions on a certain day, and if so, when?
@deltea they do, it’s listed as mid-December on their website now. wasn’t it like December 15 or something last year? I don’t remember but it was around there
@deltea i just checked and it was december 10 last year
The university will post a date when it will release the decisions for ED once the pool is closed and the have all of the ED’s in hand. It is usually the last Friday before the University goes on winter recess. This year, the winter recess starts on 12/16, so it is likely the date would be Dec 9, but that’s just speculation based on historical precedent. The school will pick its own date and notify ED applicants about 10 days ahead of time when it will be.
Hey guys! I’m only a junior, but I plan on applying to Cornell ED for the Environmental Engineering Major at CALS! Any tips or words of advice for juniors?
I’m applying ED to CAS. Application is almost done but I’m definitely stressing. It’ll be submitted by October 5th.
@ArachnoMe I’m trying to work my way thru the supplement but progress is hard to come by with so much school hw and clubs and other things… Hopefully I’ll be able to submit by mid October or so.
Anything new guys? Honestly, it feels surreal that college apps are here. I waited three years to prove myself for this time right now, and it’s really intimidating to think about that.
Has anyone received their Applicant ID and PIN yet from Cornell admissions?
Thanks!
@redgobig do we get it after we submit the common App? Lol I wonder how many people still haven’t finished their supplements. I am just procrastinating so much.
On their website it suggests it says - “Receiving your ApplicantID and PIN via email is your confirmation that we have received your application”
I was assuming that means the common app, and then you can keep track as the other items arrive. Been waiting weeks now though… Maybe time to call and nag.
How important are SAT 2 scores?
Some colleges like CALS don’t consider SAT 2 scores unless they’re sent while other colleges like CoE require SAT 2 scores. Thus, I feel if the college requires the scores, then they must be at least somewhat important. However, they won’t be the reason why you’re accepted/rejected, unless you did REALLY poorly. Meaning, you received a score less than 600. Even then, your SAT 2 scores are important, but they’re not the most important factor.
@ArachnoMe @Rojobot I agree.
