@GreaGats Wait, if you applied ED, why aren’t all of your application materials already submitted?
My financial aid to-do list is finally empty!
Who here is applying ILR?
do you guys think that you have strong essays? im not a good writer and im worried about my personal statement.
Did anyone apply as a communication major?
@Camchar88 Thank you for comforting me!! Sigh** I wish I can prepare for it more because I think the essay didn’t show who I am completely…
Could someone please explain what exactly Oracle is? I used to get initiated on all my financial aid but now I get Oracle.
Hey guys super new to the college confidential site, I applied ED to the college of arts and sciences for biological sciences. I hope I get in, Cornell is definitely my top pick. Good luck you guys on December 11th! I hope we’re all future Cornellians!
@Dearspy Pretty sure the Oracle thing is glitch. Orasoft is a software company and Cornell’s probably using their products to create their portal and it’s glitching somehow
@coolandnerdyyy and @Chelydraroach same here, I started writing my essay just a month before the due date. I heard from my neighbors that they started on their college essays this summer - they are only juniors in high school! I wonder though if starting earlier (not a year earlier lol) would make our essays better. Sometimes rewrites could take away the edginess that a good essay needs.
@coolandnerdyyy to be honest, my essay was trash. I rewrote it for other schools
@Camchar88 Same…!! After a while when I looked at it again I found new insights but that was too late though! I wish you the best!!
Hey guys, new addition here!
Anyone here apply for CALS Landscape Architecture? (ED)
also, I have a brother who is currently a third year at cornell, do you think it’ll help my application? Anyone else with a Cornelian sibling?
@ChizzWhizz ME!!! I applied to CALS as a Communication major as well!! Which state are you in?
@JulieOrringer I have a DD who is applying ED and I have a junior at Cornell. The only problem I see is that on the app they asked if anyone is a legacy but only let you check parent or grandparent. Where did you include your sibling? My daughter briefly mentioned it in her essay. I heard sibling legacy doesn’t help but I hope that’s not true.
Cornell legacies only carry you so far. It’s a tie breaker maybe, but it’s not like it boosts your chances beyond belief-- especially sibling legacies. Your credentials must be to par with every one else’s, it’s not a free card. I hope you guys are aware of that.
@rapscallion sorry I meant to so financial aid information not application materials, otherwise you’d be right there would be no way I would be accepted :)) but seriously has anyone been contacted by the financial aid office?
@GreaGats Yes
During this nervous time, lets have another discussion topic. What school is your next choice in your RD if you don’t get in Cornell ED? Just looking at what schools people are looking for besides cornell. Don’t tell me Harvard or Stanford please.
On the Common App the questions about parent and sibling education should cover direct legacy.
