Cornell ED Class of 2022 Discussion Thread

I received my Applicant ID a few days ago and it says every part of my application has been received except my School Report. My counselor says she sent it along with everything else so is it normal for different parts of your application to be received at different times? Or is it a problem with my application missing the School Report? Please let me know because I want to get everything recieved before the deadline!

Same here. I received Application ID a week ago, but my status shows School report not received. I send e-mail to Cornell two days ago, no reply from them. Plan to check with my counselor tomorrow. any suggestion??

@lisaol
Which is why i was originally going to apply, but after calling and emailing admissions i found its on a person by person base, and since the NPC cost is a little bit out of reach i don’t want to risk not being able to withdraw.

Plus i want to apply EA elsewhere and not have to withdraw if accepted

@MaizeScream you can always withdraw if your reasoning is financial, so if you want to wait until you see the final numbers, you can do that
I’m certain admissions will tell you the same

Have had my ApplicantID for a few weeks now. But “school report” is still missing even though my counselor submitted all of her things a while ago. On Common App it even says “downloaded” by the school report and all of the other counselor forms. Don’t know why this is the case, but I can see other people are also having this issue.

@fivesixnine I talked to my guidance counselor about this too. In the applicant portal (click the question mark) it says the school report and school transcript can be sent together (which happened to me) or separately. My counselor showed me that my school report followed my transcript and she sent both in the school transcript section. So I’m assuming this is what happened to you as well. You should be fine.

Hi everyone! Just wondering, does anybody know the date that ED decisions are released for 2022?

Applying to CALS
Does being male help for CALS admissions? Co 2021 is 60% female

I submitted the rest of my application and I am both relieved and even more stressed.

Also, I have the same problem with the school reports. Does anyone know for sure what the problem is?

Just relax folks. I don’t think Cornell will do much until 11/1 ED deadline and the school reports will be there.

Does anyone know if Cornell will see tomorrow’s ACT or is too late?

I wish! last year it was the second week of December

Hey guys! Does anyone know if Cornell asks for first marking period grades for ED?

@BobSagets way back you asked about statistics. Cornell (overall) admission counts by college are available in this interactive plot. http://irp.dpb.cornell.edu/tableau_visual/admissions So you might guesstimate the numbers based on the relative percentages and the overall ED rate. http://cornellsun.com/2016/12/13/cornell-sees-10-percent-boom-in-early-decision-applications/

@MDSparkle that plot is actually interesting, but I am not sure Im reading it correctly. If I click on Dyson School it shows approx. 2700 applied and 60 acceptances. I am confused because they also have a plot for Hotel Admin and then the Ag Life Sciences. BUT, there is a notation that up until 2017 the ag school included Dyson Applied Econ and management. Do you know what would be the appropriate plot to choose for Dyson Applied Econ and management. I don’t think 60 acceptances is correct
something doesn’t add up. Thank you.

@MDSparkle thank you so much! this is really helpful.

@lisaol Cornell will see your October 28th act score as long as you sent the score to them. I did that two weeks ago and called them and they said they would receive the score. If you haven’t sent it yet I think you can do it now but I would do it asap.

Actually, she said she hopes they don’t see the score.

My daughter has gotten several invitations to apply from Cornell including a fee waiver. I think that’s a very positive sign she would get admitted. What do you think?

@MayBIvyMomma a lot of students get fee waivers from different schools. This does not correlate with an increased hange of acceptance. The only thing that would is a likely letter (which is pretty much guaranteed acceptance). But that only goes out to RD applicants
