I am applying to CoE and on their website it says its required by thanksgiving
anyone get a likely call yet
i thought they didnt do likely calls for ed
@chaoticchef I wasn’t sure if they did. I’m relieved that they don’t though.
Why would they make likely calls anyway for ED? They already know everyone who applied ED wants to go there, whereas for RD they don’t know that to be the case. Seems counterproductive. Same with the interview. Everyone who interviews anyone in the ED pool already knows the interviewee wants to go to Cornell, so it’s a completely different type of interview than for a school that a kid applies EA or RD since the interviewer knows the student 100% wants to go there and isn’t faking it. The whole process is agonizing, for everyone. Nothing is a given and there is no sure thing!
Good luck to everyone!
I was trying to figure it out about the human ec likely calls as well
What’s a likely call? Do they do it for ED applications? & anyone know if CALS requires Quarter 1 grades?
Just had my interview today, they told me the deadline for alumni interviewers for the ED applicants is nov 30. This is when they have to submit their “sheet” as she described it to Cornell
do they give unlikely calls LOL
some schools will contact some applicants with a likely call or letter, this is rare and is usually only done during RD. I have never heard of it being done during ED because everyone in ED has already committed to going to that school which means there is no need for the school to entice anyone with a likely call
Is anyone else’s To Do List still blank?
mine has not been blank for a good while. says initiated for all
I’m screwed then - the alumni contacted me 2 days ago and we’re meeting on the 30th.
hey guys. im new to this thread. anyone else ED to ILR??? Im literally sh*tting myself
@idekyy You’re not screwed. All they turn in is a 250 word summary of the meeting. It is informative only and really has no impact on your admittance or not. She/he will just turn it in probably afterwards. It is not a big deal and it is not an interview. It is just a way for you to hear more about Cornell or ask them questions. They already know you want to go there, since you applied ED, so just relax.
Unless something disastrous happens, it cannot hurt you at all, and it won’t help you. They tell you that over and over. My friend’s husband does these alumni “interviews” and it has virtually no impact, hence why they call it information sessions only and why your contact is supposed to have said as much.
does CALS require Q1 grades to be submitted? I know college of engineering does, but what about CALS?
@yllatagu I do not believe so, but you should check their web page directly and if still uncertain, just send their department an email or call them. Better to be safe than sorry!
Check your spam folder, mine ended up there
All those worried about the “initiated” status in the FA to do list: I spoke with FA today and they said it takes them another week to get the idoc data files into their system and that any items for idoc or tax info probably wont show as received until next week. She did check my D’s stuff on the idoc system and said it looks like its all there. Further she said to check next week and if it still showing as initiated to call. Hope this helps.
I called the COE admission office and they said Q1 report card is required. My daughter school consular called and talked to them as well and they confirmed the same.
As per the admission office, the result will come on Dec 10th but will be notified couple of days before the actual date.
