Cornell ED Class of 2023 Discussion Thread

It’s only for architecture, isn’t it?

I believe the alumni association offers some “informational” interviews to applicants who can be reached based on alumni availability.

I interviewed but I’m applying for architecture so it was required

Alumni here and I just received the welcome to this admission cycle email from the university this week. I expect we’ll start getting our list of ED students to contact within the next week or so.

How does the interview work? Do alums of the same college get paired with prospective students? I’m a little unfamiliar as to how I should start preparing

Do you guys know when decisions come out?

@MyGPAIsAnL - Generally speaking, the committee chairperson will try to match up alumni and students within the same college but it depends on the location and availability of alumni. Some areas do group meetings because there aren’t enough alumni.

The meetings are very, very low key and are more an opportunity for students to ask questions and learn more about the university. Definitely nothing to stress or worry over.

why they sent another application ID today?

thats for fined

finaid*. My to-do list is blank, I’m assuming I’m good on everything? Or will it get updated?

why check application status tab is blank?

I believe the email a few days ago said it would be a couple of weeks before everything showed on the portal.

What were you guys’ stats?

my son is applying ED to CAS. He got the login details in the last couple of days. He is 34 ACT (35 STEM 33 ELA 1 take) and 770 chem and 720 Maths II (both 1 take) but i cant tell if this is of much use or indeed is even important. He is a regional orchestra brass player and a regional athlete and has volunteered a lot at a local health clinic. He is very eager to go to CAS but we are not from the American system so it is all a bit strange to us. Seems all we do now is wait till mid-dec!

Has anyone who is not doing architecture gotten any emails about interviews yet?

Hello!
I’m applying ED to HumEC. My SAT is 1440 and gpa is 3.7. It’s a stretch but hey it never hurts to try hahha

Apping to Engineering. 1540 Sat, Math 2 800, Phys 740. A levels: AAA*AA, Math, FMath, Physics, Bio, Russian, doing AdFMath.

Hey all, I thought I remember seeing somewhere having to submit quarter 1 grades for ED. Does anyone know if they took this requirement off and if not then how to send them? Thanks!

I’m pretty sure you don’t get an interview unless you’re applying to SHA/Arch. Also, SHA only does phone interviews.

Does cornell send likely letters for ed applicants?
