If you look back to the 2024 ED thread they had the same offer… noone was able to log on until after acceptances were announced.
how long did it take for the 17 RD school applications?
You guys need to be patient lol. I know it’s hard I am an anxious wreck and I am losing sleep but what is with all these hacks? It’s only two more days just wait.
Free t-shirts… y’all are hilarious lol. Penn ED here, but I’m planning on applying to Cornell RD. Just wanted to say good luck to everyone!! And also that the anxiety’s gonna get SO much worse as Thursday gets closer
But seriously, good luck guys!
No don’t waste your time. That’s an old link.
They do give freshman free class shirts but I remember my daughter didn’t even sign up to get it as it’s not that great. So settle down everyone.
That’s Right guys!
let’s be patient!
I know I shared the link for the T-shirt thing. And I believe I increased the anxiety among all of us! So sorry for that.
And, finally let’s just be patient from now and wait for the final update from Cornell University themselves.
All the best once again!
Is this post meant to relieve stress???
“Only 42 hours left” - I am feeling more stressed.
Gee thanks
you’re welcome! lol
Hi! Current Cornell junior here - wishing you all the best of luck. I remember anxiously checking this site. I was ultimately rejected when I applied ED to Cornell. I understand the deep love for this school is so real. I ended up spending my freshman year at a different university and transferring in. Theres really something so special about Cornell. My advice is that everything works out. Rejection is hard and painful, but I am the person I am today because of it. If anything, getting rejected from Cornell made me a better student and more resilient person. Never give up on your dreams, but more importantly, never give up on yourselves! These decisions do not define you - only you get to do that. Best of luck with Cornell, and I wish you all success wherever your path leads you. Lots of love! TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES!
Hi everyone, I received this message when I logged in to my fin-aid portal. My portal is back to normal but I’m curious what this means. I’ve seen a couple of other students who got this on other forums.
You are not authorized to access this component. (40,20)
You have not been granted security authorization for the component you are attempting to access. You may have access to the designated component and page, but not in the specified action mode (such as Correction or Update/Display). Contact your system administrator.
Do we have a separate portal for financial aid?Could you tell me how to set it up? Thanks,
Thanks a lot!
It means nothing lol. I had this too a couple of times. Just sign out and log in back.
Honestly, it didn’t take as long as you would think. Many essay questions are the same/very similar for a bunch of schools, so a bit of modification works. Also, the more I do, the better I get at doing them, so it takes less and less time. I would say that the 17 RD applications took an average of 45 minutes each.
Just type in financial aid application status, or some derivation of that. The login credentials are the same as your login for checking your application status.
Thanks a lot!
@Sun2003 DYSON’S acceptance rate was 6.41% for 2020, ahead of Wharton’s 6.65%. DYSON has always had the lowest acceptance rate of any school, undergraduate or graduate, in the Cornell system. Due to the 36% increase in ED apps at Cornell (the highest among Ivies), ED acceptance rates should be around 16%-17% overall this year, and, concomitantly, you should expect DYSON be around 4.3%. Extremely low, as always, and probably top 5 most difficult schools to gain admission to this year in the United States, including HYPS; most people do not know or believe this until looking at actual numbers. But they bear out. My latter projections are based on previous years’ ED enrollments and the number of apps received, but they should be close. But remember, you can always be deferred and most applicants on CC are far stronger candidates than the majority applying to even the best schools. Good luck!
Not that it matters for this discussion, but freshman have not been required to live on campus, even though probably 99% do.
IIRC starting with this year’s HS seniors they will be required to live on campus frosh/soph years. I haven’t been following that closely though, so I don’t know if COVID has messed up that timeline (construction delays, single rooms possibly, who knows).
