Cornell ED Engineering and Question At End

Hello, I have applied for Cornell ED and have not had time to get on much due to marching band, but waiting is very suspenseful so I hope to receive an estimate of my chances at Cornell.

Academics:
GPA - 4.0 (actually higher, but Common App only took 4.0)
Rank - 9/360
SAT - CR 740, M 800, W 700 (on one test; I got a 710 on W for another test)
SAT II - 750 Math II, 750 Chemistry
AP classes - Calculus BC, Physics C E&M, Chemistry, Biology, and Computer Science are the ones related to engineering.

EC's:
Marching band flute section leader - takes up about 60 hours a week during summer, ~18 hours a week during school.
Concert band - part of an honor band submission which placed 3rd in state and received a national honors recognition (sadly we were not ranked).
Computer Science UIL team - just came back from a competition at UT Dallas, 6th place out of 53 teams (3 people each) with a handicap (1 person left halfway for a piano competition). I already submitted my application before this contest.
National Honor Society - ~200 hours volunteered, mostly for the band and at a therapeutic recreation center.

Question:
I would say my essays represent myself and are honest (I wrote about my work ethic, being a flute section leader, building a computer, and attached my resume), but I've been reading in places that schools like when you say something such as "I noticed Cornell was working on printers that can recreate tissue cells accepted by the body as its own organs" would increase chances of admission. I did not write about this because I chose to spend most of the limited characters talking about myself since Cornell knows enough about who they are, but not about who I am. What do you guys think? Did that just lower my chances?

Thanks for all your help; if there are any questions or there is something I forgot to include, just ask below!

Are you female or male?

I am a male. Not sure how much that will hinder me, though.

It will hinder you a bit, but every male too. Admission for males is much more competitive then for females.

As for chances, I say you have a bit above an average chance. Your academics are very strong, and you’re EC’s are good, but not extraordinary.

I can’t answer your question. no one really can except an admission officer

Thanks cortana,
Considering a bit above average (and that early decision average is 35%), I’d say I’m content with that statistic for an Ivy League. I did manage to find this 2005 bit of data on CC:
Engineering:---------------------Men 33.40%; Women 54.79%; Total 38%
It seems women get more of a boost than men get of a handicap, but I guess I can live with that.
