Cornell ED for Class of 2016!?

They want all scores, but i’m not sure what it is like for the ACT.

I emailed admissions and asked them to clarify it… but they’re not taking emails or phone calls anymore? It says that I will be notified on November 15th whether or not I need to send more application materials, so we will see what happens.

Did anyone who applied ED get an email saying that Cornell has received your application?

ahhhh~!!! submitted to HumEc last week! does anyone know if we have to rush november scores?

I got an email. They said that they received my application, then they gave me my applicant ID and activation code.

Applied to School of Hotel Administration! Doesn’t seem like many other people are…

How long does the admissions committee spend reviewing each application?

Cornell does not participate in Score Choice and requires that all ACT w/writing tests are submitted. Typically they look at the highest score.

I’m actually in a similar predicament; I didn’t realize Cornell didn’t participate in Score Choice when I was sending off scores, so I didn’t send my one SAT score and Spanish SAT II (still near the 2300 and 700 marks, but not something that I wanted to send since I had much better scores). I DID send 5 different subject SAT II’s spanning from freshman year to this October, so I think it might appear fine? I’m scared to call and have them look down upon me, but also scared that this will later come to haunt me. Thoughts?

Hi all,

I applied ED for CAS and CALS and just received an e-mail from a Cornell ambassador, who scheduled a meeting with me in my town (NYC suburb). Anyone else get this? Is it good or bad? I’m guessing any personal attention is good. Very nervous.

From what I heard, it’s almost random, because of the number of ED applicants and the limited amount of time available for interviews. Alumni interviews really don’t mean much unless you really screw it up, however if it is excellent, then it could be the deciding factor!

Did anyone take the October ACT and send scores to Cornell? I’m scared they won’t make it on time :(

Sent from my DROID2 using CC App

My application has undergone processing and has been sent to the selection commitee. You can check this using your Cornell applicant ID. If the material has already been sent to the selection commitee then is is too late for you to send additional materials, if not then time is running out. Mine was sent before the November SAT2s have even taken place !!! Lucky I sat mine in December last year :P.

Are we supposed to notify Cornell that our November SAT scores will be sent as soon as they’re ready? Or do they just assume some more scores will come in towards the end of Nov?

dawnofthetiger, I am sending my october act today! I hope they get in on time too!

hi guys! i applied ED to CALS. does anyone know whether cornell asks for quarter 1 grades of senior year?

@aykayy
Yes they do ask for quarter 1 grades.

Wait they ask for first quarter grades for sure? I thought it was only for some students. Like a random process. I haven’t heard of all of the previous ED applicants being asked for first quarter grades.

Where did you hear that they check 1st Quarter grades? That is very unlikely…

I hope they do ask for them, my quarter grades are much better than previous years. If you took the Nov subject test does ILR really wait to look at the app though? Or do they just send it to committee anyway? I know they said Nov was okay but not encouraged…
