Alright, I called Cornell once again just now and they said there will be a message sent on this week Thursday to our self-service system that will provide us with a set date for our application decisions and they said this will be the SET date(No questions asked). By the way, as most of us know, all of the colleges will get their decision at the same time on the same day.

Thanks for the info robert! Now...we just wait until thursday so we can stop the debates now =]

i have a pre-written countdown going in my planner and when found out the date could possibly be the 19th and not the 15th i was so upset that the countdown would be incorrect. thankfully though i called today and the lady in admissions said most likely the 15th

My friend applied to Colgate and today the dean of admissions was in town and came to my school and personally handed the kid the acceptance packet 12 days before the results were to come out. It made me even more nervous for some reason for Cornell, but I am happy for him.

omg abanks...thats so awesome! I didn't know they did stuff like that! Do you guys live near Colgate or something?

Actually my school is in Denver, but the Dean of Admissions loveeeess Colorado (so he is here a lot) and our school sends a ton of kids to Colgate, so we have a pretty good connection with them. Yeah so his college counselor told him that he "needed to talk to him" during his off period (early this morning) and waiting in the counselor's office was the dean of admissions with a shirt and a large packet. Pretty nice gesture.

Oh wow I'm so jealous. There's a lot I would do to find out now versus sometime in the next couple weeks.

i pretty much would flat out fall on my ass and faint if that happened to me with cornell. honest truth.

haha same here

a girl from my high school who applied to harvard RD already got in somehow....she sent her app really early and last friday she received a phone call from harvard and she was admitted....

so i was sitting in my ap spanish class and if we speak english we get in big trouble. my friend chelsea (who applied EA to yale) looked over to me and told me in spanish that my college counselor told her something about me and cornell. of course she was whispering across the class in spanish and she was really excited so everything was very unclear. so i kept thinking OMG DID CORNELL CALL MY COLLEGE COUNSELOR TO SEE HOW MY SENIOR GRADES ARE?! DID THEY CALL FOR SOME REASON?! (because my friend applied ED to williams and they called my colllege counselor to tell her that they love him but he has to raise his SATs so they told her they deferred him) so i knew they MAY call

so i was freaking out, WHY would she be telling chelsea about cornell and me? what was there to say!? and she told me after class that my college counselor only told her that i told her that cornell was delaying their decision. i was so AHHHH because she was so excited i thought it was better news.

that was a rant/ramble but i have the time so i felt like sharing. similar thing happen to anyone else?

I'm so scared about decisions. I have a question, what is the early decision acceptance rate for CALS in-state? I can't find this anywhere... I mean, I know its higher since I'm in-state but I was curious as to how much higher relative to out of state. Also, do you think that the fact that my brother is currently a freshman at the school will help me? Thanks and good luck to all.

what is colgate, isnt that a toothpaste company....

WHAT?!
RD harvard!?

most likely an athlete. All recruited athletes basically already know if they are in or not by now...including Cornell ones.

Colgate is an awesome liberal arts university in Hamilton, NY. I think it's only about an hour or two from Ithaca...Come on IHateS@T!!! You're a CC member! You should know this stuff!! :P

Aghhh I really really hope they stick with the 15th.. Only a couple more days till we know when we're really counting down to, though!

yeah, the kid was pretty shocked. He thought he was in trouble for something, but he said that he had no idea how to react when it happened. It was probably one of the most pleasurably awkward moments possible.

that is the most amazing story i have ever heard. i dont even know what i do if that happened to me with cornell!

has anyone else been asked to send in their senior year transcripts as an early decision applicant? my friend and i both applied ed and were both asked to send them in and im worried that means we're borderline or something : /

oh crap. my grades SUCk rigth now. like...HOLY CRAP

My first quarter grades were fine, so I sent them, but my grades have been dropping quickly ever since November 1st...the wait is really having an effect on me. I am going to be in quite the situation if I do not get in to Cornell.
