I am currently a junior looking to apply to Cornell ED for the school of hotel administration next school year. I am just wondering what range the ED acceptance rate for the school is in.
Thanks
The acceptance rate of Cornell’s unique majors does not accurately reflect the chance a student has at getting accepted. The students accepted have very interesting applications that normally show “fit” with the major. If you have a lot of experience working with Hotel Administration or similar fields you will have a good chance of getting in, provided that you have the grades. For example, a student with a 36 ACT with little to no exposure in the field does not have an advantage over a student with a 33 ACT who has spent a lot of time interning and working in the field. These are just my observations. There may be an acceptance rate somewhere out there, but I’ve never seen it before.
^^in addition, if you want some sort of stats, look at the ED results thread.
the answer is right on the website. if you scroll through the admissions site and look for admissions data Cornell breaks it down by school, among other ways. so, over time, the total applicants appear to have varied between 800-1000 with slightly under 200 being accepted and virtually every student (82%or so), attending, for a high yield. I am not sure the exact screen but if you bounce around for a while you will find it and other data.
