Cornell ED

Hi everyone (:
I'm applying to Cornell ED this fall (College of Human Ecology-Nutrition major), and I just want to get an objective opinion on how my application will look. I go to a school in Miami called School for Advanced Studies, a program (junior and senior year) where half your classes are dual enrollment at a local college, and the other half are AP

AP English Lang. (5)
AP American History (4)
AP Psych. (5)

Extras:
I have an internship with a nutritionist
Tennis (all 4 years, varsity letter)
Triathlons (have competed in 3 so far since it requires a lot of training. Does this make me stand out?)
Student Government (all 4 years, committee member-> vice president)
National Honor Society- Secretary
have a lot of volunteer hours, and I currently volunteer for an organization called Earth Angels
will most likely be nominated for Silver Knight this year, and I already received something from College Board about National Merit or National Hispanic Recognition
I know I can get excellent recommendations, and my essays are going well.

let me know what you think pleaseee

I’m sure you have a great chance at getting in. However I, along with the majority of CC’ers, do not work at the cornell admissions office. So, good luck! Hope you get in! Also, do u need FA? I’m sure you’ve heard all of the ED and financial aid issues before, just making sure you know the risk.
Again, good luck! Cornell is a phenomenal school

lol thanks, I really wish some of you DID work there. I do need financial aid, but since Cornell is need-based it’s not a problem. I’d actually end up paying less there than at most other schools. thank you again (:

Very excellent stats, both in respect to academics and extracurriculars. Being a URM will be a significant hook. ED’s have been proven to increase one’s chances slightly as well. I’d also like to comment how that internship shows your passion and fit for the nutrition major in human ecology. You seem very well on the right track and the only hurdle left in my opinion is writing a great essay that will justify your acceptance to Cornell. Best of luck! :)

Thanks for chancing me!

I honestly think that you have a great chance. Your GPA is excellent, you have a high SAT, and you’re a URM! All that being said, the Ivies can be random in admissions. So, as long as you keep up what you’re doing, you’ll be competitive.

wow you have a really high gpa & good testing! have you considered taking the ACT? & you SAT score is high but maybe you should take it again to be safe. The higher the better!

I was going to take it in the fall, but I don’t think I am anymore because I’m going to be so busy… I honestly don’t think I would score that much higher, so I don’t think it’s worth the time and effort. I’d rather focus on essays, but thank you (:
