I am planning on applying to Cornell University early decision.
SAT- 2160
Over 720 on both SAT2 Literature and World History
GPA- 4.2/4.5 weighted and 3.94 unweighted
Both my parents attended Cornell (so double legacy) and my father was a professor there for a few years when I was younger. I also know many professors and faculty members personally who I believe can call/ write letters for me. My parents donate some money each year (not a lot by any means). I don't know if any of this will help me
Thanks in advance :)

Test scores are a little iffy and you didn’t list your ECs so it’s hard to tell. Double legacy+donors will definitely help. Good luck!

Your probably good I would say high match!

My extra curriculars include a university orchestra, book club, founder/president of history club, officer in Model UN, and volunteer at a local history museum. I am also taking a class at a state university for fun. I’m in the National and French Honor Societies and also am in a honors choir. I’m not sure if these help me mat all. Thanks for the people who’ve answered!

Anyone else? :)

You are practically almost in, stats are average but donor➕legacy. Def!!!

My parents don’t really donate a lot of money, it’s just been an annual donation since they graduated… Do you think if I can get a professor to write a letter for me that it would help?

Can anybody else help me out here? It’s my dream to go to Cornell so I’d like any answers because I’m so worried!

I think you have a shot but nothing’s a sure thing in Ivy admissions. Good luck.

Besides legacies, do you have any other hooks? If no, then I say it’s a 66/34 shot.

I’m not sure what you mean by hooks, do you have any examples? I am while and female which I know won’t help at all…

Also what does a 66/34 shot mean?

You’re in.

thanks everybody!! I hope that i’ll get in. Does anybody know what a 66/34 shot means?

Cornell application for ED is not due until NOV 1st. Can you do something about your SAT scores meanwhile. Maybe take ACT and see how you do. SAT score of 2160 is not competetive despite your legacy, JMHO.

So with that score you do not think I’ll be accepted?
