What are my chances for cornell ed? Bty I'm a female asian.

You have a great chance. What about your SAT subject test score ?

Which school are you applying to? It really matters on the school. Also, testing could improve to a 34-35. Also make sure your essays really stand out and you can show how dedicated you are to your ECs.

Are you a NY state resident? If so which college within Cornell are you applying?

My SAT 2 scores are as follows:

Math 2: 770
Chem:770
Bio E: 790

@sgopal: I am a NY resident and I want to go for architecture.
The AAP school…

My only concern is that I haven’t won any awards in art and although I have interned at an art foundry and am a hired artist, I don’t show anything that makes me stand out.

@kevinjuan: Yes, I am retaking my ACT’s but I know they want all scores…? Which seems a concern because that would mean taking it for the third time. (I want to go to the AAP for Arch)

Actually, Cornell factors all scores only to benefit you, meaning they superscore the ACT. You could potentially end up with a better score when they review your application.

@kevinjuan: well in that case I’m good! Thank you :)

Whoops before I meant @sgopal2‌

bump

For Cornell’s SoA, and most accredited architecture schools for that matter, the portfolio/required interviews play heavily into your chances of admission.

@hqureshi11‌: About how much would you say it matters? 50%? 70%?

I mean, I am skilled at drawing, but still, I would like to know.

bump

A lot more than you’d expect. Since Cornell’s undergrad arch program is high-ranking, it’s easily the most important part of your app.

bump

Very good chance. Many of my friends were accepted into Cornell ED last year with stats worse than yours. Just make sure you have a killer essay and good recommendations!

I think you could be a candidate for the other Ivy’s as well

@HPClee‌ : Thank you! I really love Cornell and it has been my dream school for a while now and really want to get in.

Those are REALLY good scores, just make sure you do well on the interview and present/prepare a stellar art portfolio and you will be fine!

@thegrant‌ : Thank you! I wasn’t really sure plus the competition is bound to be fierce.

haha yes the competition will probably be tough, I did some research and im pretty sure they accept around 50 ED and then 100 RD for all of AAP ■■■■■… Theres not much buzz about people applying to Cornell AAP on College Confidential so i guess that works to our advantage. I have my interview on September 5th and surprisingly not that nervous lol
