Cornell Email Address

Hey,

I'm wondering when we're supposed to get our Cornell e-mail addresses, and how we're supposed to go about getting them. Thanks for any info!

it should come with your admitted students package. it comes with instructions on setting up your e-mail.

does anyone know how we log in to the email accounts once we get our email addresses?

"If you used Cornell’s application status self-service account at https://admissions.cornell.edu/selfservice, you should be able to retrieve your NetID and activation code once Cornell has processed your enrollment deposit (estimate 7-10 business days after your deposit has been received).
I was in my process of getting mine.. but for my password setup part this error message "Principal does not exist" shows up repeatedly, even though my passwords passed the "password strenght check". Any one help please?

Maybe see if you can reset your password...

Does anyone know how to login to your email account once you get the actual email addresses? I already have my netID and everything. Thanks.

but this message occurs when I am seting up my password.. so I have no password to reset Stillmanz.

I had the exact same problem with the "principal does not exist" and I ended up calling Cornell CIT support. They were confused with the problem and elevated it to "backline support" and said I would get a call in a few days. I fixed it myself though by using IE instead of Firefox. If you were using Firefox, try the registration in IE and if that does not work then call CIT.

Stillmans, go to www.uportal.cornell.edu and then click on the Bear Access tab. www.webmail.cornell.edu also works and shows the mail in a slightly different interface.

Thanks for your help rustin, but it didn't quite work :) Another friend found out a solution though. You can simply close all IE windows, and restart the whole process. And you will get your NetID, with random numbers at the end tho..

Thanks rustin!
