Cornell Engineering ED- Female-Chance me! Please!

Hello!

I am an international female student from the Middle East and I am considering to apply ED to Cornell.

My stats are:

SAT: 2010 (should i retake it? I am afraid it is gonna be worse)
SAT II: Math 2 (700)*
Chemistry (650)*
*I will retake both and I took chemistry without a preparation cause I just decided to take it while I was having a break from math II test.

My GPA (3.6) though we don't have a class rank.
I am in the IB System, and my lessons are:
HL: Chemistry, Economics, German B HL
SL: English A Lang&Lit, Mathematics, Arabic SL

Extracurriculars :
MUN
Theatre- I have personal awards
Varsity Athlete (broke the school record for track&field, won some races in the province competitions)
I did tons of voluntary work, and organized several projects related to that

I am leading three activities this year, and I am the founder of one them.

What is your SAT I breakdown?

Math:780
Reading:630
Writing:600

Your academic stats seem to be below average, but you do have a hook (female engineering). The athletics and volunteer work could help you, and as long as you do well on your essays and have good recs there is a chance of acceptance. I would retake the SAT’s- if it’s worse, you don’t have to send it.

Cornell ED- low reach/reach

Your SAT’s are very similiar to what mine were (800-M 610-R, cornell doesn’t look at writing Math1-730, Physics-630) and i got accepted engineering ED though I had a slightly higher GPA. I’d say you have a 50/50 chance since with any ivy league you can never be sure. Just make sure your essays are good and it can never hurt to take the SATs again.

Thank you I will retake SATs and I am working on my essays right now :)
