I am slightly confused by the music supplement submission instructions (Cornell University Department of Music » How to submit recordings). It opens by saying Engineering applicants can submit a music recording, but later on it says:
"Please note: the supplemental submission process is only intended for students applying to the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Human Ecology."

Does anyone else know whether Engineering students can submit?

Just got into Cornell Eng…but am less experienced than some of the posters here.
The question I guess I would ask myself is why. Does the music supplement connect with the rest of the application? Will it assist the admissions team in understanding what significant contribution you will be making to the university? Or is it just a one-off, somewhat unrelated thing that you will be submitting for the sake of submitting. :P

Also, you are applying to engineering, so your app will be reviewed by eng. faculty, and they may or may not be able to appreciate musical talent.

Call the Music Dept and ask. I believe they return from break on Jan 2nd or so. D submitted a music supplement for CAS and I remember reading they only accepted them for nonmusic majors from a few of the schools (not Engineering) but it wouldn’t hurt to ask.

I think the deadline for the music supplement is January 1, and that the music department reviews them. I’m very involved with music and I’m planning to minor if possible so I wanted to submit a supplement. I guess it’s too late to phone in and ask if Engineering applicants can submit…
