Cornell Engineering Transfer

I am an international student who was rejected at Cornell Engineering ED and then admitted to Vanderbilt University RD this year. I know that intending to transfer when I have never experienced Vanderbilt is lame but I have several reasons to transfer.
1. Cornell Engineering is better
2. I want to major in Industrial Engineering or Financial Engineering or Operations Research which is provided by Cornell but not by Vandy
3. Cornell is my first choice college

Now I have several questions about Cornell Engineering

What do you think about the coursework of Industrial Engineering or Financial Engineering or Operations Research, compared to majors in CAS/AEM/ or other engineering majors?

What is the average GPA of kids from those majors?

Could you help me differentiate Industrial Engineering/ Operations Research/ Financial Engineering? Which is the most likely major that helps me get into top I-banks/ consulting firms?

If I transfer to Cornell Engineering as an international student, how is the financial aid determined as there are many international students who need much aid from Cornell and the budget is limited?

Is it easier to get financial aid as I transfer from Vandy, the schools gave me full ride need-based aid?

I know that I will start my GPA again at Cornell if I transfer successfully. But do recruiters for internships/ jobs care about my GPA at Vandy? Can I self-calculate my GPA by combining the GPA from both schools as I think they are both prestigious? Btw, how is my GPA calculated when I apply to grad schools? Do they care about my GPA at Vandy or just at Cornell?

What kind of GPA at Vandy that I should get to have a good chance at transferring to Cornell Engineering?

Thank you

Regarding question #3, financial engineering vs. industrial engineering/ operations research, posts #s 3 and 8 from this thread may help:

bumpppp 10 chars

anyone could help me answer those questions

OR is still engineering, so expect a lot of work, but this still varies between one person and another, and I am not trying to say that AEM or Arts & Sciences wouldn’t have a lot of work to do. At any case, expect to study a lot (and party a lot :P).

I don’t think anyone can give you a definite answer for this except those who work in the fin aid office, but I believe they would consider your previous grades.

It’s up to you whether you would like to include Vandy in your resume or not, but if you get on-site interviews, some companies do ask you to submit transcripts from all of the schools you have gone to. If you decide not to include it, then you do NOT combine the GPAs.
Applying to graduate school is another process. You would have to list all of you previous GPAs in the application. So, you still don’t combine them.
