Cornell engineering

can someone tell me what makes cornell engineering better than other schools?

Its not about better than other schools, its about whether its a better fit or not.

Here's a start:

Cornell Engineering : About Cornell Engineering

Cornell University College of Engineering - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Depends on which schools you're comparing it to. Cornell engineering is ranked top ten in the country and offers great resources - top-notch faculty, excellent research opportunities and funding, a strong student body, extremely rigorous coursework, etc.

It's difficult to compare Cornell engineering to schools like MIT, Stanford, and Caltech, however, as they are academically in a league of their own. I do know of a number of students, though, who turned down acceptances to Caltech because they felt it was too small and not as well-rounded. So whether Cornell is a "better" engineering college for you should depend not only on academics but also on factors that go beyond the classroom.

TP already went over the main points. Things like top-notch faculty or excellent research opportunities may seem generic but they're not. If you look at the underdeveloped engineering programs (even some at top schools), they literally only have a few faculty members and almost no research or facilities for devoted to engineering. Cornell has a very large and very well funded engineering department and you will find everything you need to get a great engineering education.

thnks for the insight

my main decision right now is between upenn and cornel for early decision
any ideas?

for engineering?

are we talking about the same university of pennsylvania here?

For engineering, it's really no comparison.

"are we talking about the same university of pennsylvania here?"
Hahahah..
I was stuck between the two as well, but that was because I'm interested in financial engineering.

even the financial engineering can't compare.

Maybe Columbia can compare in terms of financial engineering, but not UPenn.
