Cornell Fall 08 Transfers

Applying to ILR as a junior from a SUNY school in Buffalo. I have my interview tomorrow morning!

I think my chances are pretty good. Well, maybe.

Are you doing a phone interview or are you going to campus?

Phone interview. They said it would be fine since I live 3 and a half hours away. I've seen the campus before, and I plan to make a visit after this semester is over.

NYU's really expensive molly. If you aren't on scholarship, you should consider a 2 or 4 year SUNY (Cornell does really well with in-state public transfers.) One of the best decisions of my life.

I know nyu is expensive and that cornell does well with in state public transfers, but I'm not even completely sure I will transfer at all. So I'm not going to pick a school for the sole purposes of making it easy to transfer.
I don't have GT and transfer acceptance rates are really low. let's say I went to binghamton, and then tried to transfer out to cornell after a year and didn't get in - I would be stuck at a school I don't even like.
So I'd rather just go to a school I love (nyu) and enjoy it there. after a year, I might not even want to transfer at all, if I'm doing well academically/socially. plus I'm commuting so it's not expensive for me.

anything changed on your Cornell application status page?

Nothing changed for mine.. :(

This blows, I don't even know if they received my application. For all I know, it could've gotten lost in the mail 3 weeks ago.

It's Friday!! Has anyone checked the page yet?

Yep. Still nothing.

Ugh.. hopefully, it'll be up by the end of the day :)

Nothing yet.

Wow, I applied under Arts & Sciences... so much for that. I feel like how I did when I found out Chicago reduced their transfer rates so dramatically.

On Thursday I spoke with someone in admissions and was told that my application had arrived in full and is on file! Yipeee!

Regardless, I still do not have this username and password that you all seem to be referring to for checking a status page. Could you please post a link to this page?

Their ApplicantID page is not intuitive and the self service link is well-hidden, so it's understandable that you haven't found it.

Thanks so much!

Does anyone have the transfer stats for AEM? I can't seem to find t.

I've heard other posters say the AEM transfer admit rate is ~ 14%
