Cornell Fall 2017 Transfer

Its hilarious to me now that I thought the stressful part was submitting in the apps, now its waayyy more anxiety induing cause you really can’t change anything anymore in how they evaluate you

Did anyone apply to CALS for the class of 2020?

I actually got a B in microeconomics last semester. Micro is a hardcore weed out class at my school and the average GPA is a 1.9 for it. But I’m happy with my grade. TBH I don’t think grades matter that much as long as you are above 3.4 like Ian has said so many times

@ballislife98 Good to know, yea my gpa is gonna turn out 3.79 so hopefully I’m still competitive

@Mastodon97 don’t even worry  you’ll be fine - fit matters a lot more than GPA and I can definitely see your passion in the posts here I’m sure they’ll see it in the app

@ballislife98 If only Ian read our posts :))

Anyone here applying as a Communication major?

Does anyone have any insights into ILR transfer admissions?
Also, is it a big deal that I only took 3 out of the 4 suggested courses? and I took a 200 level macro course instead of a micro course.

@Dontskipthemoose What insights are you looking for? I would say that it is a big deal in terms of requirements but you can finish it over the summer, I’d let them know that though. And yes a micro course is required for entrance

@Mastodon97 I have an AP credit for micro and macro economics from high school, and then I took an intermediate macro economics course in high school. do you think the high school AP credit counts?

@Dontskipthemoose Thats something I’d definitely ask Ian the associate director of ILR Admissions about. He usually answers in a couple of hours. Heres his email: ims25@cornell.edu

@Dontskipthemoose I was told sending in the AP scores would suffice, as long as the score is satisfactory.

@Dontskipthemoose If you received a 4 or 5 on the AP exams, then you are all set! Here’s the link

Would ILR applicants please post their stats?

any other AEM applicants here?

that was my secondary choice on the common app

How about we get a list of all the applicants like in the past transfer threads? I can work on one right now before theis thread blows up as we go into April

@Mastodon97 I am applying to AEM

Wow that was exhausting, but I made it
YOU GUYS PUT THE SCHOOL YOU ARE APPLYING TO IN YOUR CHANCE POSTS I went through so many without one that I started putting them default into CAS. Obviously if you see a mistake on here of where you are applying feel free to copy paste and change it. If you want to add yourself just copy and paste it the whole list in your post with your username on it as well.

I am applying to human ecology too. HS 3.72 with 34ACT. I got 2Aplus one A one B and one C+. The C hurts… I know. But I submitted midterm report with 3Aplus one A and one B plus. Would you say it’s almost impossible with the C? The prof sucked, a lot.
