I think I will. Although I haven’t heard back from Duke and Northwestern yet, I think my acceptance chance is pretty slight since I got rejected by Vandy tonight. Pretty depressed. Btw, I really love Cornell’s school atmosphere, and many of my friends are in Cornell. Will you attend? @EdwardL

Stats: at community college now after rocky high school experiences. Flunked out of CC the first time and came back after figuring out what I wanted to do. Rebuilding my GPA, currently 3.75. Phi Theta Kappa member, presented at 4 conferences this semester, have innovative research currently up for publication. ECs are mainly research (4 projects over the last year and a half), although I’m also the leader/founder of the Women’s Collective in my hometown.
This wait is killing me! I got into Columbia and University of Rochester, and since Cornell doesn’t offer merit scholarships I’m not sure if I would be able to attend, but I’d at least like to know my options. Also waiting to hear back from NYU which is taking its sweet time as well.
If there’s no pin today does that mean no decision this week?

@MysteriousFredo If they can’t locate it, it means that they haven’t made a decision yet. Last week was the first week of releases for engineering and only one person on here was accepted, with about five or six denied.
Anyways my stats:
GPA: 3.9 (18 credits a semester at a decently ranked liberal arts school)
SAT: 2100 (1430 on M+CR)
Extracurricular Activities: Undergraduate research as a freshman, eagle scout, politics club, coding experience in two languages.
Essays: The “why engineering” one talks about how I grew academically after a bad freshman/sophomore year in HS and how it was motivated by engineering. The “why Cornell” essay was full of specifics about the university, including volunteer programs (Gorge Stewards) and a research program I’d be interested in working with.
Recommendations: Absolutely no idea, I hope it’s good. I had a history professor write it for me because his class was almost all discussion based and my math and physics teachers don’t speak English that well. I asked him to write about my critical thinking skills.
High School: 3.4 GPA, heavily upward trending.
Prerequisites: On track except for Calc III, but I told them I’m taking it over the summer (regardless of if I am admitted).
Either way, I already got into Northeastern which apparently has a super low rate for engineering too and is an amazing school, so I have a backup and won’t be too bummed if I don’t get in.

Hey guys since I’m CALS Information Science,
does the fact that I have a decision tomorrow and
my transfer evaluation portal still hasn’t updated mean that I’m rejected? :’(
What’s transfer evaluation portal? Is it a different portal from transfer checklist portal? @doctork

@doctork I wouldn’t worry about it. At least you have a pin so that says something. I’m sure you’re going to get accepted!!
