If you are a international student trying to apply to ILR, please don’t! I have never seen even one international student get accepted by ILR. Last year, a student from WashU get rejected.
Here are my stats:
Current college: Top 40 national university (private school)
College GPA: 4.0 first semester and 4.0 on midterm Report
Recommendation: one from economics professor, one from English professor ( they will not be exceptional, but I think they are probably solid)
ECs: Economics club, Amnesty international, homeless shelter volunteer, two internships related to Human Resources and business management.
High school: Hotchkiss School (from 10-12 grade)
HS GPA: 91~92 (many honors classes and some AP)
SAT: 2080 (760M 620R 700W), I don’t know whether I will send it because it is not required
Essay: Solid. Spent a month on it
*Also I am international student from China
@ILR2020 I definitely wouldn’t give up hope just yet. Judging from past threads, even with “acceptance” and “rejection” weeks, there have still been a significant mix of outcomes each week. The only strong trend I’ve found, and again it’s definitely arguable, is just that the earlier you receive your decision, the earlier they received and processed all of your materials and the more certain they felt about their decision to either admit or reject you. I definitely still think there’s a chance you may have gotten in, regardless of whether or not it’s a rejection week
Hey guys sorry this is kinda unrelated but put my mind at ease here. I am applying as a sophomore now. I applied to transfer as a freshman last year and got denied. If i already got denied do i not even have a chance this year?
@lexluther96 No I wasn’t, I was very surprised to get in considering I’m not a GT. Best of luck to you too! Hopefully you get your decision sooner than later Yeah it got in really early, but I also think it helped that I called a lot to make sure they received my materials. Lots of people here were complaining about check marks not appearing on their materials list…
@jq3322 Yes, I think so! This guy from a previous thread with stats beneath Brown’s 25th percentile (like 1750 SAT and 3.6 GPA) applied to Brown three times and got accepted the last time! It at least shows that you really want to go there
You guys all need to calm down about decisions. At some point over the coming weeks you either get accepted of you don’t. Until you hear the official word, speculating and reading too far into things isn’t going to help. You haven’t been rejected unless Cornell explicitly tells you so. Just take a few deep breaths, and don’t put all of your eggs in one basket.
