Hey guys!! I just called them and they told me to resend my college report that I sent on 2/27 because it’s the last week day to do so before the 4/15 deadline!! Hopefully this gets to you in time
Apparently my fee waiver didn’t get processed till a few days ago. Even though I sent in my application Feb 26! This means my application hasn’t even been viewed yet?! IDK.
Cornell plz come thru with a rejection or acceptance because my life is on hold rn.
When do decisions come out usually?
An admissions rep told me that they’re trying to finish most of them by 4/30
@Nomad413 @harvardlaw2023 lol go to the official 2018 transfer thread (the one with 300+ comments??). decisions are going to be released every Tuesday at 10AM moving forward. first wave of decisions was today
@harvardlaw2023 I just got an email saying I have missing docs on my application and it turned out to be my fee waiver request. It still hasn’t been processes!!! Does that mean they haven’t started reviewing my app? oh my… the wait is already killing me.
to those whose fee waiver request has not been approved yet, what course of action do you plan to take? call them and explain your circumstances or pay the fee?
@hardennfan13 exactly. give them a call
I got rejected yesterday
I just checked my email and it says they did not get the fee waiver and I’m supposesd to send in a DACAC form. Is it too late if I mail the waiver tomorrow?
OK SO I JUST REJECTED FROM EMORY TOO. I applied to transfer to Cornell and Emory. Both of them rejected me.
IM SO DONe. Im deleting this account.
I will become a better student than any Cornellian. So peace out imma grind and get into HARVARD LAW.
@r3j3ct3d1 My fee waiver was finally checked off a week ago, but I had to have my boss from my cc email them to confirm that the fee would be a ‘financial hardship’ in addition to the Common App waiver. For the DACAC form you need to submit, do you have the link? I am also DACA, but I have not been receiving any emails even for missing forms.
Rejected earlier today on May 8th, 7:09 am. The letter was very nicely written and was reassuring. That’s nice consider I know many of us struggle with our self-esteem in the college application process. Best of luck to everyone who has yet to hear back =)
Continuing from last post…
If anyone was wondering about my stats (I think it was weaker on the academic side and stronger on the experience side):
Applied for incoming Sophomore transfer.
Currently held a 4.0 at a California Community College and a 3.8 during the midterm report (In my defense the 3.8 might have not hurt me because I am taking 5 honors classes this semester, which has yet to be done at my college thus far.)
Applied with the intention of double majoring in economics and philosophy.
1400/1600 SAT
EC: Senator on Associated Student Government, Business Club Founder and President, played a major role in organizing a TED talk (interviewed applicants), Phi Theta Kappa, Honors Club, Intern for a social media marketing company, intern for a Unitarian Universalist church
Letter of Rec: 8.5/10 if I had to guess. One from the adviser to my business club, one from my econ professor who attended Pomona undergrad, and one from the CEO of the company I interned for.
Essays: Wrote about minimalism and utility. What good can come from using philosophical principles to analyze economic theory - how my experience at a casino and working for a church simultaneously shaped my academic interests.
History: Dropped out of high school due to medical conditions. Family divorced during high school. Ended up with a 3.5 GPA. Only 1 AP test (4 in AP History). Lived in Europe growing up. “Gap year” living in Oklahoma where I attended a trade school and lived on my own.
Rejected from Columbia and Cornell thus far. Many more to hear back from, though.
Keeping my head high and staying positive.
