Cornell Fall 2018 Transfer Thread

Just curious, but if you transfer (external) to Cornell, can you still internal transfer ( I will be a sophomore upon entering Cornell)?

@ObLiViOuSx99 Nope, most colleges don’t allow external transfers to become internal transfers to another school.

It’s probably a bad thing if we haven’t heard back yet?

Just got an email! Accepted COE (non-GT)

@Vikheim Congrats! Do you mind posting your stats?

Thanks! I’ve got a final in a couple hours but I’ll put them up afterward @DBaf20

Wait so is that whole “Tuesday at 10 AM” thing for particular schools? I’m waiting to hear back about CoE.

@shermama96 no only Cornell has been doing this. As for my other schools they hit me up on a Monday, Wednesday, they are not fixed, only Cornell for what I know so far. Good luck I’m waiting on CoE too.!!!

Has anyone heard back from AAP? Got accepted to Syracuse today, now i’m just waiting for Cornell. Crossing my fingers… hope to hear back this week. Any ideas on when art students should hear by? Super nervous!

Hey guys so I’m a HumEc applicant to Biology, Health, and Society. Yesterday Paul Fisher reached out to me about one of my classes and today my transfer transcript changed from initiated to ordered. How sure is it that I am going to get accepted. Rlly nervous guys thanks! Been following this thread for a while, and posting for the first time.

My financial aid to do list still says nothing, is that where people are seeing initiated/ordered?

Yes

@socal77 did you receive your acceptance the regular pin way, or email or call. Also did your transfer transcript change from initiated to ordered?
Sorry for the badgering just shook haha

Essays:
I transferred from Engineering Physics, so I talked about what led me to switch majors, how my current school didn’t have the resources I needed, and how Cornell was the perfect fit. Also talked about how my dad works in OR and how ironic it was that I was coming around to OR after writing it off originally.

Recs:
I was lucky enough to have a couple fantastic professors write my recommendations. One of them was my multivariable calculus professor, who I’d talked to about research opportunities (or the lack thereof) in OR/FE during office hours. He knew my reasons for transferring, and the guy is a genius so he probably wrote a killer recommendation.

@Vikheim Looks like you were a really easy choice for an acceptance. Congrats!

@Vikheim Congrats dude. You definitely earned the spot.

@samwantstogoivy that sounds like a sure thing lol. Do you have to send your final transcript for this semester because of the phone call?

@seabass31 He just emailed me asking about one of my classes, I didn’t have to send anything. And I don’t know about it being a sure thing, don’t want to get excited for no reason ya know.
