Accepted ILR’26 as a TO applicant. Checklist disappeared around 9:15AM today (4/18 EST) and I got my result at 2PM (EST).
congrats!!! idk if this is a dumb question but what is ILR and TO
Heard back 04/18, rejected.
Oh no! so sorry to hear!
Is it not a “done deal” if you meet the grade and college credit approved requirement??
What do you mean?
I applied to ILR and did not take any economics classes in my first year of college that is a prerequisite for that
Sorry, we may be taking about two different things. I thought you were referring to the TO status (transfer option).
Congratulations! My daughter received TO in March as well as the transfer requirements. For English, did you take whatever the English class from your first year university? Also for 2nd language / STEM, did you take one or both? For all three requirements, did you take entire year or just one semester / quarter? Thank you so much!
Accepted. Received the result yesterday at 2:00 PM. I was a TO applicant as well.
Thank you! ILR is the Cornell school of Industrial and Labor Relations and the TO is a Transfer Option that I received when I applied to Cornell as a HS Senior.
So the TO requirements are going to vary depending on the Cornell schools, for my English requirement, I just took the standard First Year writing class offered at my current university. For the Science requirement in ILR, I just took General Chemistry (bad choice, would not recommend). My school was a Semester system so I just finished all the TO Reqs (English, Econ and Science) my first semester and chose classes that would transfer over the second semester.
Thank you very much and all the best!
daughter admitted today at 2pm to HumEc
congrats! Was she a TO applicant?
yes
Do they accept any non-TO transfer applicants? Seems like it will be tough to transfer for applicants without the TO. Is the TO mainly offered to legacies?
No I’m a non-legacy and got offered a TO last year. I heard it’s offered mostly for people who fall short in the GPA/SAT/ACT scores since it’s a sneaky way on their part to bypass their published statistics for the incoming class of 202X while also having you potentially become a part of the Cornell community.
tldr; if they like your application and who you are but your raw numbers are lacking, they often will offer you a TO
That’s good to hear, thanks!
Is this only for TO applicants or all transfer applicants? Trying to figure out when regular transfer applicants start hearing…
Anyone receive a decision today?
