i was so excited when i saw that they had one!
do you need to already know how to figure skate very well to join??
i quit figure skating in middle school around age 10 (took lessons to freestyle 5) but i barely figure skate anymore. so i'm not as good as i was obviously. so any more info on this club??

you do not need to figure skate very well to join. there are some students who join the team as complete beginners. there are multiple skating sessions during the week, sometimes at lynah on campus and other times at the rink in lansing. there arent any tryouts, all you have to do is sign up at club fest in the beginning of the year, go to the info session, and then skate your heart out :)

awesome!! are people there nice? any freshmen?

yes and yes :)

Hey, same here! I took lessons until I was around 10, but have barely skated since. I could probably do laps around the rink, but no tricks like I used to lol. If you join the club, do you have to pay for the lessons?

do any boys figure skate there?

Just in general about clubs…is there some sort of club fair where freshmen can go around and learn about/sign up for different organizations? if so, when does it take place?

There is. The date should be in the packet pre-frosh get, along with the listings for all other orientation week activities.

Thanks, found it in the back of the packet =] ClubFest is on August 30 from 1-4pm.

there are boys on the figure skating team

and the club doesnt give lessons, persay. if you ever need help with a jump or spin, the other members of the team would be more than happy to help you. there is a coach that cornell has for the figure skating classes, and you could have her help you as well

haha i used to play ice hockey. i think i’d really enjoy this tho
