Cornell Financial Aid

Does doing early decision to one of their contract colleges give good chances for financial aid? I don't want to get accepted and end up paying 50k a year. Thanks

i don’t think applying ED or RD makes a difference in terms of your award

Ironically is correct. Your offer will not be different in ED/RD. Do you have any idea what your EFC or institutional cost would be?

Your award will be based on your FAFSA and CSS Profile.

Columbia is a full need school.

However, if your family’s income/assets are highish, you may not get much or any aid.

Have you used any of the FA calculators?

Do you have a non custodial parent?

mom2collegekids - I don’t think the issue here is Columbia.
Cornell is known to give very poor aid packages in the Ivy. The Ivies that give the best aid are Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and Dartmouth. Brown, Penn, and Columbia are in the middle. Cornell gives a little less (though sometimes Penn and Columbia give even less relative to Cornell). Like ironicallyunsure said, applying ED won’t get you more aid.

Oops. Cornell. Is there really much difference between cornell’s and columbia’s aid.
