Just a junior trying to do her research and get some interesting perspectives and opinions!

So what are some of the negative aspects about Cornell?
Right now I think it's the weather..but I'll have to learn to deal with that since most of the schools I'm applying to are in the Northeast
The big campus? (but I don't mind walking..good exercise haha)
Why does everyone on CC look down on Cornell? They rank it as the lowest Ivy and everything!

What about the good stuff??
I've heard alot about the food
The campus looks gorgeous
Ithaca has that small town feel to it that I like (anyone think it's TOO isolated?)

I'm from the South..pretty small town
Would LOVE a change so that shouldn't be a problem
(I guess if you throw me in the middle of NYC that might be a bit hard at first..but after 4 years I can get used to anything!)

Thanks in advance!
I'm dying to know more! Anyone is free to comment (Current students, alumni, or just anyone's impression of it) :) Thanks you guys!

What I think is one of the worst parts is that people in other Ivies tend to look down upon Cornell and say it's the "worst" Ivy.

The good part is I don't have to listen to them because I know I'm doing engineering, and Cornell probably has a better engineering than any other Ivy.

Hah... more seriously, though. Cornell's got good academics and a good reputation no matter how you look at it. The campus is beautiful, and Ithaca is gorges. It's kind of in an out-of-the-way location, removed from other places, which can work for and against it.

if u think cornell is isolated think again, dartmouth is

Dartmouth is like an overgrown summer camp for teens in the deep dark woods of Hanover...very picturesque though.

Take a look at this thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cornell-university/614242-pros-cons-cornell.html

People who use expressions like "worst Ivy" are generally the one's who worship rankings and the US News World Report is their Bible, and Brown is ranked lowest, so most of them peck at Brown now...hahah.

^ Thanks for that link!!

Hmm seems like the biggest thing that stands out is it's size...

Thanks for everyone's comments.
