I worked for my family business for the last 5 years. Managed 10 real estate properties (including 1 budget hotel) - construction, sales rentals, staffing, training, budgeting - for about 2 years; 3 years working for an independent 5-star property (also family owned) in Asia as a management trainee (worked in all front office departments; mentored directly by General Manager).
Other information: speak 2 foreign languages, eCornell Revenue Management course, GMAT 620, bachelors of business from an average college with low GPA
I want to get into the program to learn how to think rigorously about strategic questions in hospitality context (marketing concentration), plus gain sufficient HR and Financial knowledge.
I have an option of working for a chain hotel (Marriott, Hyatt) for a year or two to gain more management experience. At the same time I can upgrade my GMAT score and then send an application.
Another option would be to apply now, but I am worried whether my academic credentials will allow me to get in.
Thank you
