Cornell Hopeful

Hey guys,

I just got my scores. My AP scores throughout high school are:

2012 - WHAP: 3 (expected 5 tbh but oh well)
2013 - Calculus AB: 4 (expected low 5 but oh well)
2013 - Chemistry: 4 (hoping for low 4 so glad)
2013 - US History: 5 (hoping for low 5 so glad)

DO these scores affect my admission chances to Cornell? I'm thinking Early Decision. Also, what credit could I get with these classes so far? Should I still send in the 3?

AP scores are generally not factored into admission since they are not required to be reported.

I’m a high school senior, so what I’m going to say isn’t official. But definitely, your APs do affect your application. I’d say send all, because it shows the different subjects you’ve tried advanced classes in and done OK!
You’ll find the credit policy in here: <a href=“AP Credit Policy Search - AP Students | College Board”>AP Credit Policy Search - AP Students | College Board;

Cheers.

Getting credit for & being used in the admission process are two entirely different things. Once again, because the reporting of AP scores is not required: http://admissions.cornell.edu/sites/default/files/2013FreshmanRequirementsChart.pdf</a> , it would not seem reasonable that they would be weighed heavily, if at all in admission.
